I am surprising my daughter with a 21st birthday trip. Can she receive a button at each park on different days? In order to not rush from park to park on her actual birthday do you guys have any suggestions of best touring strategies? I really would like her to have each parks button as momentos. We will be at MK and AK on her actual birthday with lunch at CRT. Should I order a special cake or leave it up to the magic? We are on the dining plan if that matters and will be eating at several different TS places through the week. I am including Coral Reef, Sci Fi, Tony's Town Square, Rose and Crown, and possibly Raglan Road. Any ideas of how to make each experience magical?
Thanks,
Marie

all the parks and resorts are now issuing the same birthday button, rather than having different buttons at each park.

The only good thing is they write your name on them so the CMs seem more personable.

well i have a birthday button from magic kingdom and has the castle and i also got one from downtown disney that is totaly different and says it's name sake on it.

When did you get them we were surprised they switched over to a General Dreams type one for all the parks when we were just down.

DD missed the Epcot one with all the different Happy B-days

We found there were actually two styles of birthday buttons a few weeks ago. My dd, who was celebrating her 13th at WDW got some that said..."Happy Birthday", with a cake/candles on it, and a place for her name on it. The other one said "Today is my birthday" on it with the Castle and Mickey/Minnie/Donald/Goofy in front of it, but no place for her name. She wore the 'name' one for most of the trip, then on her actual birthday she wore the 'today is my birthday' one.

I think you would only have a birthday button if it was actually your birthday that day. Just my thought though.

I'm going to Disney for my 21st bday also and I definatly plan on wearing my button the whole week. Just because only one day out of my trip is my real birthday we're going to be celebrating all week so why not? :)

We were at WDW Oct. 14-21 and DS turned 7 on the 19th . He wore his button every day. :cool1: It was the button described earlier with the space for a name. WHen we had breakfast at Chef Mickey's on his actual birthday, they gave him the castle button that says today is my birthday.

Both my boys' birthdays are in January. One at the beginning and one at the end so we are going between both of them to celebrate both their birthdays and if they want to wear their pins everyday it's fine w/me. This is their birthday trip that we're doing in lieu of a party and gifts. If it were up to me for my birthday I'd rather be at WDW. :goodvibes

Last month my children celebrated their bday, the only place they got buttons that were not the generic blue ones was Animal Kingdom. They had ones that had the tree and said today is my birthday. My children were hoping to get a button from each park and wear them all on their bday. They ended up doing one of the blue ones with their name and the Animal Kingdom one.

This year once we got the same one in Epcot as AK we just thought they were all the same.

Disney celebrates it's birthday for 18 months so I sure they don't mind people celebrating our entire trip . We let them know that Fri was her B-Day and never had a problem.I think the CM like it they seem to always get a smile on.

here they are

We are going to be there on Nov 26 and leaving on Nov 27 which is my actual bday and you better believe i am going to be wearing a bday pin.

When you go to the CORAL REEF you can ask for the scuba diver b-day to happen!! You will have a special sign come down as well as the b-day person carrying getting a special menu! OH this is FREE

DH got a birthday button from Epcot last month that said "Happy Birthday" in different languages and it was rectangular instead of round. The other parks had the same button. Look on the turnstiles as you go in Epcot-that's where we found his. I made him wear a button for 3 of our 6 days there since his b-day was right smack in the middle of our trip! :rotfl: He was tired of people saying happy birthday after that!

I don't know why anyone would care if your actual birthday is a few days later or before, or even weeks before, to get a button. Remember when you were a kid and only had your birthday party on the weekend, not on your actual birthday because of school? I use the same reasoning here! We can only go to WDW on school breaks and I've decided I would rather have another trip than birthday, or even Christmas presents, so let the celebrating begin! :Pinkbounc

OK. . .here we go. I feel so stupid even asking this. WHERE do you get the buttons from? We are going in January on MY birthday and I would like a little magic!!!!

Check in at the Guest SErvices area of each of the parks. They have the pins there. I have to say that other than people wishing my dd a happy birthday, not much else happened. We were not looking for anything other than that though.

Thank you for the Coral Reef info... it will be so wonderful to have a message in the tank for my daughter. Thank you all for the wonderful information. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I have already told my husband no gifts for me for the next year so that I may celebrate in Disney with my daughter. (Of course secretly I am hoping for a "surprise" anniversary trip in Sept)
You guys are great!
