We go this Saturday!!!

my DD's b-day is this Sat (apr 26) we are going to be there for 4 days
we are going to Disney to celebrate her b-day

do you all wear the button your ENTIRE visit?
or just the day of?
(or one day, if it doesn't actually fall ON the b-day)

i know
silly question... but!! (just one more thing for me to obsess about before i go, lol):rotfl:

I once spent a 3 day trip there. It was for my birthday so I spent the entire time wearing it. :)

we wore ours all 5days we were there the cm actuely told us it was ok to wear it. and it dosnet have to be the excat bday if your going and celbrating a bday there have fun and dont worry about what others may think theres no rules

If I'm in the park within about 30 days of my birthday, I wear the button, because that I how I celebrate my birthday. I wear it the whole time I am there and completely enjoy it!

My son turned 2 the first trip we took as a family to DL... he only wore the button on his actual day... we were there for 4 days...

I say...until the birthday person is tired of having strangers give him/her good wishes! :goodvibes

Which is what my 4 year old nephew did in February. Got up in the morning and said, "Dad, I don't want to wear this, so people will stop bugging me." Had me wondering, is he really related to me?..................:confused3

BillyFan (who will be at HoJo at the same time we are), I should have mentioned that I would probably be the person to take it off.

On our one-day visit in '06 it was right near Columbus Day, and therefore near my b'day, and I wore the button all day. But a day was all I could deal with it for (as a child I would cry when the birthday song was sung to me, I'm pathetic like that).

But last September when we were at DLR and celebrating our anniversary, after 1.5 days I stopped wearing the anniversary button. DH, who loves that sort of thing, wore it the whole 6 days.

We got some weird looks. :rolleyes1

We celebrated our anniversary at DLR last year, and I was shocked that my husband wore the anniversary button the whole time. It seemed a bit "girly" and I figured he'd complain. I guess after 15 years, there are still some surprises!
BTW, we'll be at Hojo's this weekend, so we'll miss you by a month. But you never know, I've been known to plan a last-minute trip before, so you could see us there then. You gotta love those APs! And the drive from San Jose seems like nothing now, but it's the drove home that kills us!

ya when i went last year it was on my bday but we also were celbrating my sons who is about a month before mine.. we wore it the whole time becouse well most our trips are bday trips allways will be oct nov or dec or maybea feb trip.

I've gone for my birthday 2 years in a row (this year makes 3! :woohoo: ) and I wear my button the entire trip! I like the attention on me for some reason.. Especially because it's my birthday and I get free desserts when we eat!!

The boyfriend, on the other hand, gets totally embarrassed when everytime we ate he got the birthday song sang to him.. He only wore it about a day and a half out of the three days we were there... :confused3

DD8 wore hers the entire weekend, DBF wore his the entire weekend but not later when we were there for his actual "birthday trip" LOL Basically we did a last minute trip the weekend before his b-day but we already had plans for a trip later that month so he wore it before his b-day but not after. lol If we make it next month or the first part of June I'll wear one and I'll wear it until I get bored with it!!! ie, never! LOL And for DD11 who will turn 12, she will probably wear it the whole trip. :)

BillyFan, we are the same way, we don't mind the drive there, it's the drive back that kills us. We have about an hour less than you do. :)

DS wore his his entire B~day day (last Sun.) off and on Mon. & Tues., not at all Wed. (I think he got a little annoyed with all the attention). Poor DD & I our B~days are 7/3 & 8/8 I highly doubt we'll ever be at DL on our actual B~Day's, we'll just have to have a Un~Birthday trip sometime!

So a couple of questions:

1) Where do you get these buttons

2) we are going to DL May 11-15, my oldest dd's b-day (16:scared1: ) is May 28 and my youngest dd (8) is on June 10th...we've told them that this is their birthday present...so would that be ok to get them buttons?

3) what exactly happens when you wear these buttons?

Thanks! You guys are always awesome at answering questions!

1) Where do you get these buttons

In DL, City Hall on Main Street, OR by the hub, where the times wait booth is, they also have them there. In DCA at Guest Relations. I also think that pretty much every store behind the counter the CMs have them

2) we are going to DL May 11-15, my oldest dd's b-day (16:scared1: ) is May 28 and my youngest dd (8) is on June 10th...we've told them that this is their birthday present...so would that be ok to get them buttons?

Of course!! DLR doesn't check ID or anything. We've gone "around" our birthdays, but I've never been on the exact day...

3) what exactly happens when you wear these buttons?

You get TONS of Happy Birthdays from CMs and even other guests. If you're eating at a sit down restaurant, you will usually have a CM bring you a small cup cake thing and sing Happy Birthday to you...

:bday: :cheer2:

Oh gracious. March through May I'm just a mess. 3, 4, 5 it just messes me up. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it, but that's me! :goodvibes

stacymomof2, Disney wants you to celebrate while there, so if you're celebrating a b'day (or anniversary or whatever), get the button!

Wear it with pride the whole trip!

Last year when we were there for my son's b-day the DGC hotel knew ahead of time and also had balloons and a free autographed picture of his favorite character waiting for him. They also were going to give him his pin then but were out so they told us to get it in DL. Since they were out they gave him a different pin I think it was Pirates of Caribean if I am not mistaken. So if staying on site check with them before you arrive.

If I'm in the park within about 30 days of my birthday, I wear the button, because that I how I celebrate my birthday. I wear it the whole time I am there and completely enjoy it!

That's how we do it. We are going June 7-10 for my twins birthdays. Their actual b-day is July 9, but no way can we go in July. Too hot and crowded for us personally.

So we planned their b-day trip for June. And I plan to get them both b-day pins. Now it may not be their actual b-day, but it is their b-day trip, so for me that's all that matters.

Besides, in my family, we almost never celebrate b-days on the actual day if it falls on a work/school night, so this is nothing new for us.
