We'll be at WDW on my BIL's birthday, and it's on the day I had planned for us to go to Epcot. We'd like to go to Le Cellier if I can get a reservation (will be in December). Will they do anything special for his birthday? Can we order a cake?

We ate there last Friday and it was my birthday. I made note of it when making the reservation and wore my birthday button and the hostess said happy birthday to me when we checked in.

I didn't mention it to my server and asked my family not too either as we'd been celebrating my birthday all week at WDW and quite honestly, I was birthday-ed out.

I didn't know if she noticed my button or saw it noted on our reservation, but nothing was done.

I'm sure if you make mention of it, they will do the typical cupcake and perhaps sing. If you want the special treatment, make sure they know about it. We made mention of it at Crystal Palace and CRT and both times they sang and gave me a birthday cupcake. Both places sprinkled Mickey confetti around our table too.

I also got a call from Goofy, a free dessert when getting a drink at Cosmic Ray's and balloons and a card from the staff at WL. Plus when wearing my birthday button, I got a LOT of "Happy Birthdays" from CM's and other guests. All very nice surprises!

If you want to order a special cake you can. We did for my dad's b-day on July 4th. I called Disney Dining and got the number to Le Cellier. I called Le Cellier directly and asked for their pantry. I told the lady I needed a b-day cake. She asked if we wanted chocolate or vanilla cake. And if we wanted buttercream, whipped or some other icing. We did a chocolate cake with whipped icing. Oh my gosh that was the best cake. It was fresh and awesome. Everyone loved it. I highly recommd ordering one. It was $25 (I think) for a cake that feed 8 people. They had different sizes I think.

We were there on my birthday in 2003. The waitress brought out a maple cream brulee for dessert. On the plate around the burlle was written 'Happy Birthday' in chocolate. DH and I shared it. Even though we were full from our meal we ate the whole thing. It was so good. On our next trip (4 days until we leave :bounce: ) we are going there just for the dessert.....

Let me see if I can post this. It is a picture of my DS's dessert for his birthday.

(Yes, they did misspell Le Cellier!)
