Birthday at Hoop de doo

Will they do anything special for a birthday boy at the Hoop de doo Review? Can you order the cake? DS will turn 7, and we thought this might be fun.

ANy other ideas for a 7 yr old boy's birthday lunch or dinner?

My dd will be celebrating her 13th at HDDR in Oct, with a friend who turns 13 two days later. Dd really wanted her 13th to be at HDDR, so is very excited. But, when I looked into having a special cake for the girls at the end of dinner, I found that HDDR isn't all that crazy about doing that. I understand that they do make announcements of those who are having birthdays, and sometimes a birthday person gets selected to part of the stage show.

We are going to have a 'birthday' lunch at Grand Floridian Cafe earlier that day, with a special cake.

any resturaunt (especially character meals) will go out of their way to make a 7 year old feel special on their birthday!

Make sure you stop by Guest Relations to get a birthday button, too! Your son might even get a phone call from Goofy when he finds out its his birthday.

My ds celebrated his B-Day at HDDR last year. One of the stage characters comes over and the spotlight shines on your ds. They make the announcement. My ds almost missed it. He had stepped out to the bathroom. Luckily he made it back just in the nick of time. He loved this. We have been to HDDR several times, and he just thought this was the best.

I ordered a b-day cake to be delivered to our room @ the GF while we were at HDDR. The idea was, we would come back to the room after HDDR and the cake would be there to surprise my ds (who is thinking there will not be a cake.) Unfortunately, the person who delivered it brought it just as we were leaving. I think they came early hoping for a tip. Unfortunately, we didn't tip as we have specifically asked that the cake be delivered during the hours of HDDR and were very specific about the time. DH stepped out of the room to discreetly let the delivery person know about the mistake. DS felt surprised anyway and ended up looking forward to coming back to the room to have cake after HDDR. We were not charged for the cake because of the mix up. In long run it turned out fine, but I still think it is an excellent plan. One worth considering. I think the cakes are reasonably priced but cannot remember the cost.

BTW, ds also had a b-day lunch @ 50's Prime Time where he had a cupcake! So celebrated all day!
