Birthday & Anniv. onboard?

We will be sailing in October of 2004 and will be celebrating a birthday and an anniversary. We noted this with the reservation agent but were wondering what Disney does to "celebrate" these events. I had heard in the past that it was a small cake ($15.00 charge) and a pin but the pin has been discontinued.

Just got back and celebrated both my birthday and my dh and my anniversary. We got cakes on the two different nights (free), pins (more like buttons) and Jonathan in Mickey Mates sent us a great certificate with two pins (minnie and mickey of course) attached to it (I am bringing it to the framers to have it framed). By the way, my anniversary was 12/10 - what's yours?

DH had his 40th birthday and our 15th anniversary on our last cruise. Make sure DCL knows this in your reservation!

We did our anniversary dinner in Palo (in Cozumel - where we spent our honeymoon, which was nostalgic), and the staff made the meal very special (lots of extras).

DH's birthday was special too (Lumier's), and not limited to the DCL birthday cake and serenade (which is nice), but we got anniversary cake number 2 - plus our servers (Ferdinand and Freddie) remembered what DH likes, and brought some off-menu favorites of DH.

I think you will like it!

There is no charge for the cake.
What kind of 'celebration' you get will rely on how good your servers and head server are about take care of you.

My twins celebrated their 10th b-day on our October cruise. They each got a cake, a button, and pins from guest services. Our friends traveling with us celebrated their 20th anniversary, and they also received a cake.

We've celebrated birthdays several times on the Magic. The cake is free. The servers sing the ship's version of Happy Birthday, etc. Somehow, we never got the pins.
