Birth order and career

Completely wrong for me too.

I'm a first born, could care less about having a "career", would much prefer to be home with my family, and would not call myself assertive, dominant or disciplined. I'm about as laid back as you can get.

My sister is about the least easy-going person I know, and she's a middle child.

It is spot on about my brother though - the baby that is able to manipulate people into getting what he wants.

I am a first born and it is dead on for career choice and ambition, but I am not assertive or outgoing at all. I tend to toward shyness.

My sister is the younger of only 2, but she doesn't fit the profile for "youngest". She is a teacher and is moderately ambitious and likes to be thought of as funny, but not terribly saavy when it comes to people skills on a professional level.

I love birth order research.

I am an only and the personality traits are right on for me. However, since only children are typically like firstborns, it's off a little bit because I am not the go-getter type. And I certainly don't make anywhere near a six-figure salary. :rotfl:

I am the oldest and my brother is the youngest and we are the opposite of each other. I am very atistic and creative and am usually unhappy in every job I have. He, on the other hand, is very ambitious and a perfectionist and has a 6 figure salary.

He also has an IQ over 200 and mine is average!

Not 100% but it got more right than wrong with my two brothers and me. DH is an only and it got it mostly right with him, too.

The oldest description fits me to a T, and the youngest describes my brother perfectly. The only problem is, I'm the youngest. My brother and I figured this out many years ago. He's been calling me his older sister since we were little.

When there is an even number of kids, where is the middle? I'm 3rd of 4, so there isn't a middle. My sister and I are the middle between 2 brothers. Not sure how it works with that type of combo. The middle descripition didn't fit either of us.

Wow, that couldn't have been more wrong for my siblings or my DH's brother.

Both DH and I are the oldest and we make MUCH less than any of our younger siblings. My younger sister is retiring this year at 41 years of age, and my younger brother is on Martha Stewart's Board of Directors.

DH's younger brother made enough money editing movie trailers that he has taken the last year or so off to try to write a screenplay.

We are nowhere near thinking about retirement, and I couldn't take a week off without pay, much less an entire year!

Missed me by a mile.

I'm the youngest and I HATE the limelight.

I have had way more success then my brother and sisters.

And, I'm the only one that likes Disney :confused3 somethings not right here;)

Not too far off from us either. My wife and I are both first born, she has 3 sisters and I have 1 brother. I am somewhat quiet though, but have a successful career. My wife has 1 degree and is finishing school for a 2nd in the medical field. She will be done in December.

My brother is a hard worker, but has to hold 2 jobs to support his family, nothing wrong with that. He had no education beyond high school.

My wife's sisters all potential recipients of Obama "spreading the wealth". While the oldest is off learning in school and working 40 hours a week on top, the 3 sisters have 8 children among 7 different fathers, none have a job or even attempt to, and have 8 marriages/7 divorces among them. Even her father states that he wished they would have stopped after the first. The ambition level fell off the cliff starting with child #2.
