Hi Karen,
I havn't heard anything about the arcade being down. If it is, I'm sure it wont be for long. Lots of kids look forward to that. I know the teen club on the Wonder has it's own arcade, besides the one on deck 9. They do charge extra for the arcade. I don't remember how much. In October the Magic is scheduled for dry dock for 2 weeks and at that time they redo the entire ship and make it like new again. So I know the arcade will be 100% by then, which is before your cruise, so your son should be ok.
I don't know about things close to the ship in grand cayman, but we will be there in December and I'll let you know what I find out. Everytime we have cruised there has been shopping within walking distance of the ship, accept for Freeport. Some places were 15 to 20 minute walk, most about 5 minute walk. Taxi's are pretty cheap. Your excursion guide on the ship will have a couple of presentations on board you can go to and get your questions answered, it also replays on the tv in your room a lot in case you don't have time to attend it in person. Plus he or she has a desk you can go to and ask any questions about any ports. they know it all.
Lucky for me my DH loves peanut butter and Jelly (HA! HA!) so we can pay for our future cruises!!! I just keep reminding him of allthe good food he will have on board!

Hello Kathy!! I love getting your notes!! I am glad they are doing a dry dock because it will be just a few months after that we get on! That will be cool So I won't even worry about the arcade. I am pretty sure I will book my Grand Cayman experience through Captain Marvins. I read alot of good things about him on these boards. I can add on the visit to "Hell" (formations) and the Turtle Farm (we have 3 small turtles and two big ones in our pond.... gotta go here!!!) I am hoping we have a little time left to shop. Oh, speaking of that, my sister wants to look into some art while she is there since she is building a new house...any ideas? Do they have [art] shows on the ship? One more question for now, and I KNOW this will sound stupid (especially if I am wrong), does DH stand for Disney husband and DS for Disney son, etc... I amso new at this I am trying hard to figure these things out but I feel like I need to go back to school!!! Anyway, I am glad we are in contact and I look forward to hearing anythingyou have to tell me. I am real glad you are taking a trip right before me.OH.... do you get the insurance? My sister doesn't want to but I think I am going to. What does it include (basics, you fdon't need to go into detail) and would you recommend it? Once again, thanks! Howdy Karen,
I just sent you a private message. I'm new at that, so I hope it finds it's way to you. I answered a couple of questions on it. If you don't receive it, let me know and I'll send you the information on this site instead.
Now for the DH or DS. I know there is a web site with all the definitions. But i don't know what it is. I saw it listed once because someone else asked the same question. I've heard some say that DH is dear husband, some say dependent husband. I tell my husband it means dumb husband and darling wife. I don't think he believes me, but i tried.
We got the insurance twice, then we read the small print and found out that if we had to cancel at the last minute you really get very little, to nothing back. So for us it wasnt worth the extra money. We would do just as well without it. If you cancel 60 days out you get 100% back wheather you have insurance or not. After that it goes down with each week, how much you'd get back. So if you cancel for an emergency at the last few days you'll get next to nothing back either way.. So we figured, why pay if it really wouldn't do anything for us. Take the time to read it all the way through and take note of how little you'd get back compared to how much it costs. Then decide for yourself. We are lucky that we live 45 minutes from the port so we don't have to worry about flights and timing stuff. If you are flying in, be sure to leave plenty of time incase you have a delay. That time of the year there are lots of delays around the country due to weather. They will NOT hold the ship if you are late. Most people fly in the day before so they don't take any chances. We have seen them hold the ship for a Disney bus before. Those people were doing the land/sea package and on disney transportation. But for the regular people, they will not wait.

Hi Kathy!!! You are funny (DH & DW) and I like your version of what they stand for!!! OK, I will continue to read on insurance. Thanks for letting me know about the fine print. I will also talk to my concierge about it. My sister is flying in form Nebraska the Tursday before, and we live down in the Tampa area, so there should be no problem. I plan on leaving early to go to the ship (yes, I already have my Feb/Mar itinerary put together...my bad!!! ) so that in case ANYTHING should arise... there is still plenty of time. Hopefully there will be no problems and we get there early and can begin the magical adventure!!! OK, since it worked, you cannow PM me if you need to!
