Birth Certificates via the Web?

I thought I saw once that there is a web address where you can request/order official copies of your birth certificate. Is this true? Does anyone have the address? Thanks!

Before ordering the the BC over the internet you may want to check your home town...or town/county of birth....they are often much faster and a little less $$. You can also order them through the state capitol...state of birth.

We did a search on line for King county vital records office (the birth county) the search came back with a few diffrent locations to retreive records from...went to the office and recieved our BC in less than 2 min.

My dh is not that easy to obtain...since he was born in a diffent state..but I still did the same thing..searched via the web for SC county vital records found the address and web site to order straight from them....After they recieve all the info needed it takes up to 3 days to process and be shipped. Thats a whole lot less time than the Vital Check internet order process...I think they said up to 6 weeks.

Just wanted to let you know there were other options...and yes before I got them I did verfiy they are the "certified" copy with raised seal.
