I am so glad I caught this post last night. Immediately sent away for my sons bc as the ones we have are hospital certificates. Who knew. I also used my NY BC to get everything including a passport. thanks to everyone with this great info.

We leave for Florida in the AM, and after reading these posts, I just checked our BC's ... they are indeed BC's!!!

glad for you. now I have to make sure my daughters boyfriends passport is renewed. he was born in japan and heaven knows what he has.have a great time
