Hi All-

I just received my Dh's birth certificate from Virginia. On the bottom of the certificate it states, "Do not accept unless on security paper with seal of Vital Statistics clearly impressed." The seal is there, but not impressed. It's on watermark paper with the official state seal. Will this be accepted? It's computer generated. (FYI - my daughter has the same one)

Thanks-
Erin :D

yes - you will be fine. The birth certificates must be issued by the state in which you were born. Some have do not have an impressed or raised seal. As long as it is not a hospital copy or photo copy.

My 'certified copy' states that it is a certified copy at the top of the page. It was issued in 1975 - at the bottom in the corner there is a 'raised seal' however it is so old and worn down you really can't tell it is even there.
