I can get the 2002 version of Birnbaum's Disneyland for $5.00. Is there any big difference between the 2002 version and the 2003 version?

Also, if anyone has the 2003 version, are there any good coupons in the back of the book that would make it worth buying?

Thanks and have a great Disney day!

The coupons are: 10% off shopping at the parks when spending at least $50, dinner at lunch prices at Avalon Cove, free dessert at Hooke's Point, & 10% at Compass Books.

Can't tell you about the comparison of years. 2003 is the first one I read.

I also have the 2003. Didn't think the coupons would be much good! I haven't seen the 2002 either, but from my experience with the WDW books, if you've been following these boards, you probably know more than what's in the books, and can figure out what would be in the 2003. Still, even that one's been out for 4 months - it doesn't mention unlimited FP's, still lists a lot of food places that the boards say are no longer open, and still lists things like Superstar Limo.

Obviously the 2002 would be even more out of date, but I doubt there'd be much in the 2003 not in the 2002 that would be much help to you. That said, I'd still get the 2003 just to have the most up to date version - if you're spending thousands on the vacation, go for the extra $10 so you don't feel like you missed something important!

Of course you are right marciemi. These books, althought not always up-to-date, are still a great addtional resource for planning.

As a matter of fact, the last time we went to WDW I actually took notes from this board and wrote them in the guide books - near the attraction/restaurant the book was reviewing.

It was nice to take it on the plane, as well as read it in the hotel before we headed out to the park. My twins also loved to look thru the book to see what was ahead for the vacation.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

SSL is scheduled to reopen in May, so it would have been premature to take it out of the guidebook all together.
