Hello. I recently heard that there is a new experience opening in Downtown Disney called Bippity Boppity Botique (sp?). It's a place little girls can be made into a princess with packages ranging from hair and nails to the complete princess package with costume and all.

Does anyone have an inside scoop on this? I have just scheduled an appointment for late April for their basic "coach" package (apparently they open April 5).

I'm just curious as to what they do, if it's worth it for a hair style -- the appointment for the basic princess package -- which I think is nails and hair -- is only 20 minutes.

Any insight would be great, thanks!

BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOUTIQUE OPENING SOON

For all those little girls dreaming of being a Disney Princess, this new addition to the World of Disney is the perfect fit. More of a salon than a store, there will be 10 chairs where girls can get their hair, nails and makeup done.

Reservations are now being taken for April 5 and beyond. The number to call is 407-WDW-STYLE.

Package Price:

* COACH: Hair style and shimmering makeup - $35.00 plus tax
* CROWN: Hair style, shimmering makeup and nails - $45.00 plus tax
* CASTLE: Hair style, shimmering makeup and nails plus full Princess costume with accessories and photo package (one 6x8 and four 4x6 pix) - starting at $175.00 plus tax

To coincide with the addition of the Boutique, you can expect an expansion of Princess merchandise.

Hth!!! :)

Thank you Amy -- do you know what type of hairstyles they do? Can they work with all different types of hair? DD hair has very tight curls and I'm hoping they will still be able to work with it okay (when I made reservations they said to make sure hair was clean and knot free -- her hair knots rather quickly, so we shall see).

We booked the Castle package for DD's 5th birthday. I was a bit hesitant about choosing the package and the costume over the phone - I would've rather booked an appointment time and been able to look at the costumes and photo packages before going for the whole shebang. I understand that they must need to know so they can have enough costumes on hand, but I wish DD could see them and pick then 'cause I just know she'll change her mind when she gets there!

Hopefully someone is booked for April so they can give us a review afterwards!! :)

I just book the castle package for both my girls. It will be my splurg for the trip. My oldest daughter is nearly 10....so I am betting this will the last time she would be willing to do something like this. Later she will be too cool for it. *sigh*

My DD5 is booked for the castle in April. I also wish I knew what the costumes looked like. I picked sleeping beauty would love to see it first. I wish they let you pick when youa re there.

I'll post pics when we get back in the later part of April for you.

Did you have to pre-pay when you made the ressie? I might do this for my dd , although I might have her hair in braids :confused3

Nope! They may require a credit card number for a guarantee - I can't remember if they did or not. But I'm positive that I didn't pay yet!

I think I just held mine with a credit card. I forget. Been making a lot of ADR's lately.

The CM told me the childs hair must be clean and combed before you come. I'm not sure how they would handle braids. Maybe you should call about that. :goodvibes

I was trying to talk my DD into Sleeping Beauty, but she insisted on Cinderella! princess: Please do post photos of your little princess after her appointment - I'd love to see!!

This is a suprise for my DD but I have asked her in a round about way- "If you could be dressed up as any princess, which one would you be?". Of course she did not pick the Sleeping Beauty like I thought she would. She said Ariel and then changed it to Tinkerbell and now it's back to Ariel. When I called they said you just have to let them know for sure 24 hrs in advance. Hopefull I will figure it out by then.

Considering she has been Sleeping beauty the last two halloweens I can see why she would not pick Sleeping beauty even though she is her favorite princess.

I'll just have to keep asking her like it's just for fun. At this point it's Ariel but a lot of it depend on if people post pics of the costumes. I think I could better guess which one she would want based on the way the different sostumes look. I hate that they make you pick like that. :tink:

I don't want to spend all that money and then get there and DD sees another little girl i n a costume she would have liked more. You would think for the price they could have someone run out and get one at the last minute rather than have to have them in stock. Seems silly to me! Oh well, hope someone posts pictures! :goodvibes

I too am interested in booking an appointment for my DD who is 5. Glad i read this first since it will be our splurge and a surprise I will have to find out which costume she will want. I have tried to find more information on this but haven't yet. Does anyone have any links to a site with more info? Can't wait to see some pics as people come back and post.

That is EXACTLY what I'm afraid will happen with my DD - I even said that to the lady on the phone. :confused3 You'd think they could just stock several of each costume and each size, so the kids could pick it out in person. Obviously they don't have room for hundreds of costumes, but enough for each day, with more of the popular ones and fewer of the less popular ones would work. I think that would make it more fun for the girls too, letting them choose all by themselves and be independent. :) Getting all dolled up an picking out a pretty dress just sounds more fun than getting all dolled up and putting on the dress you or Mommy picked put over the phone 3 months ago.
KWIM?

And, for $175, I'd like to be able to have a look at them and be sure DD is getting exactly the one she wants!

Hopefully they'll foresee this issue, and keep a few extras in back just in case a child wants something else. But I'm still hoping we get to see some photos before we go! :goodvibes

Yeah I think I should! :rotfl2: She has long thick wavy hair and having it in braids will save me the hassle of blow drying straight every time it gets wet. :rolleyes1 I guess depending of when I reserve it for I can always do braids for the beginning of the trip and take it out towards the end in time for her "appointment" or vice versa. Anything to save our prep time in the mornings.

I hope anyone that'll be there between April 5th and the 12th can post pics and a review fast! :moped:

Thank you Amy -- do you know what type of hairstyles they do?
I just made a ressie yesterday, and the three hairstyles available are:
a) princess - if I remember correctly, this style deals with a tiara, maybe glitter, and I'm guessing the hair is put up in some manner
b) diva - this one involves hair extensions of various highlighted colors and glitter
c) pop princess - wigs and glitter
If you call the number and get put on hold--very likely you will--then the hair styles are repeated while you wait. I simply didn't take very good notes! ;)

The ressie DOES require a credit card to hold, but you don't pay for it then. However, you must cancel 24 hours or more before the scheduled appointment or you are assessed a fee (again, I didn't write down how much as the connection was very bad).

The CM also told me that the girls hair should be clean and nails bare. The Coach pkg takes about 20 mins, the Crown about 30 mins, and the Castle anywhere from 45 mins to an hour. The age requirement is 3 and over, though I understand the Castle pkg age maximum is 12 due to the princess outfits (I haven't confirmed this but it makes sense).

Finally, if you are a DVC member, you get a 10% discount from some time in May through 15 June. However, the CM told me they weren't authorized to give that discount on the DVC pkg until 18 March, so I shall have to call back, make another appt., then cancel the one I made yesterday. Hope this helps! paw:
