I have searched these boards and I cannot really find an information thread on BBB. My 7-year old niece is going to the DD location prior to MNSSHP. Would love to see pictures of the hairstyles offered! Do they wash the hair prior to styling? What is included in the smallest package? She will be bringing her dress from home - Little Mermaid. Would love to hear your reviews on if you felt it was money well spent. We will be staying at the Grand Floridian - would also be interested to hear comparisons on the salon in the GF for little girl hairstyles. TIA!

They do not wash their hair but you must take her own hairbrush. Google BBB hairstyles and take a look...that is what DD did with her girls before we went. She is going to love it! CMs as well as other park goers greet the Princess and tell them how beautiful they look...it is priceless.

We didn't bring a hairbrush.... They have all of the combs and brushes sterilized in barbicied, like a regular salon. No one brought their own hairbrush. We were there in December 2014. Is this a new policy??? Going back in October!

When we made reservations for our last trip (March), we were told to bring a brush but the CMs actually didn't use them for any of the little girls in our party (3). They used a comb for each that they gave to us when they were finished. At no time was I asked for a brush. Maybe a comb is included in the price? I don't remember honestly. But, 2 weeks ago I made another reservation for DD for March 2016 and was told to be sure to bring a brush/comb with us.

OP- some people will disagree but I feel the money is well spent. We did BBB in March with DD and my 2 nieces and they all LOVED it! The look on their faces was priceless. We are going again in March 2016 and letting DD do it again for her Birthday... they are only this young once, I want her to be able to enjoy all the magic while it lasts. DD was soo excited last time because she got to keep the make up and nail polish that they used on her.

Ok, that's what I remember seeing. Maybe they throw them away and the stuff that looked liked barbicied was hair spray or something! It was nuts when we were there, but I definitely remember not using a brush! I'll bring one in October just in case. Thanks!

DD has gone to BBB a couple times, most recently in May. We were also told to bring a brush when we made the reservations, but we forgot. It didn't matter, since they used combs on all the girls. I didn't see anyone using brushes.

In that case I think I will tell DD & DDIL to bring combs for each girl. We all have a thing about using other peoples combs.

I honestly don't remember what they did in May (and I'm too lazy to go check DD's bag of stuff from BBB), but at least a couple years ago each girl used a different comb which was then given to her to take home. (The girls are also given their makeup and nail polish.)

The combs they used had pointed ends (almost like a handle, but thinner), which were used in the actual hairstyling. So maybe take a similar style comb if you do take your own with you.

I wouldn't think they are used combs... they let the girls take the combs home with them.

if you want to take your own comb, that type of comb is called a rat tail comb. The pointy end is used to push stray hairs into place.

I wonder if they say to bring your own brush because the occasional girl has hair that is very curly or unwise not able to be combed without brushing first.

We just went this week and each girl was styled with a new comb that they got to keep, along with their makeup pallet, nail polish bottle and sheet of face gems (the girl gets to pick one and then bring the rest home). We brought hair gel from home and with a little touch up each morning, our buns lasted for 3 days (well, day 3 was a little rough but our little princesses didn't mind! :rotfl2:). It was definitely worth the money for us - we got the cheapest package and brought dresses from home. Everywhere we went, the girls were treated like celebrities. It was their favorite part of the trip.

Since you'll be doing it in DD, it's worth noting that there is no photo pass photographer in the boutique, so you'll have to bring your own camera if you want to capture the transformation. But, there is a photo studio next to guest services in DD that will do a whole photo shoot with your niece after she's done.
