My daughters did not have this issue when they went there, however my youngest had an accident at 20 months and sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury. Because of her situation she had to lay flat on her back for almost 2 weeks straight. She lost a significant portion of her hair at the back of her skull, bigger than a half dollar size. We were told by several nurses that because of the trauma it would never grow back. I don't remember exactly how long it was but by 6 months post injury it was growing back. I honestly believed it never was going to grow back.
If the hair loss is due to a trauma then it is completely different than waxing your hair and will not grow back as waxed hair would. I would go see the doctor about it since you are not absolutely certain where the loss is coming from.
