So I'm having a day. Trip to the World is imminent and I just burned my right pointer finger and left a nice blister. Which finger do we use when we go to the park? Will this cause me any grief? It's been a few years since we've been and I just can't remember. Thanks in advance!

Any one you want. The first time you use your tickets just pick a finger and remember it although if you're like me that can be harder than it sounds:rotfl2:

Try to pick a finger that will lay flat on the scanner. If it's curled with arthritis or another problem, try to choose another finger

You can use any finger that you choose to use.

It shouldn't cause any grief. If they have to reset your biometrics they can. One trip they had to reset it for my annual pass. The previous trip was in the summer and we went in December. My arthritic hands were much less swollen. I told them I needed to change to my winter "fingers." Over the years this has happened to me multiple times, if needed I just show my photo ID.

Thanks for the replies! I didn't think it would be too big of an issue but figured I'd check to be safe ;)

I'm a lefty so magicband on the left and use the right thumb on the scanner.

My mom always has trouble because (being elderly) she never lays her finger on the scanner in the exact same way so it always throws it off.

My sister on the other hand uses her thumb... except she inverts her thumb on it (like a thumbs down manner) which screwed up the reading at one point and I (Being an engineer/ergonomics guy) spent the next half hour trying to figure out why she didn't USE THE SLOT!

tl;dr - Use any finger! ;)
(Brings up a question I hadn't thought of before - what do they do for biometrics if you don't have any fingers?)

They snap a photo of you that goes into your MDE file.
That photo can be called up on a CM iPad at the gates.

How "elderly?"

(Be very careful how you answer.) ;)

And don't press too hard, I have some sort of mental block on that one. For some reason I want to press hard and it screws it up.

Being familiar with fingerprinting, the ridges and all the other identifiers never change with your finger prints. They just become less pronounced with burns, people who work with concrete and roofers jobs like that, scars only make fingerprints easier to identify. You seriously have to use acid a lot of it or shave off quite a bit of skin for your fingerprints to become unreadable, I would use another finger since there will be thousands of other people using those and you never know other peoples hygiene habits, with something like a burn or open wounds.
