Does anyone know if they have bingo on the cruise?? Just a random question! :)

Yes they do 100%, I have heard kids can play and the prizes go as high as $4000 yikes!!! Not sure about the cost

Did someone say the Bingo?????

I played every day on our seven day. BINGO!

You can play manually or electronically. It costs money and the prizes are money. Kids can play IF an adult over the age of 18 is with them (because technically the adult is playing if they win due to the prize being money).

Each Bingo session has four games played. Each game has a different jackpot amount. On the very last night of the cruise any money that has not been given out in prizes that has been made through Bingo is awarded in the last game of the last session. On our 7 day cruise that was $4,000-something. I won $60 on the second day.

LOVE Bingo!

Not sure about the cost

In a word: expensive. I used to play all the time, I've pretty much cut it out when they introduced the electronic cards and cut the number of games back from 5 to 4. I think the lowest package is about $30 and that is for 6 paper cards for the 4 games, the electronic cards are more and there are several packages, they start around $48. The regular prizes range from $100-$300 but it varies based on the game and how many people are playing. But the more people playing, the more chance you'll have to share the prizes. The final game (which has the large jackpot) has higher prices, starting around $70 I think. (I know the prices I'm quoting are not exact but ballpark numbers to give you an idea of costs. Didn't play at all on our 2011 cruises.)

Yes, kids can play as long as an adult buys the cards for them and is there to claim the prizes.

And you can be sure that all the money made from Bingo is not used for prizes. This is definately a for-profit activity for DCL.

I have only played BINGO a handful of times in my life but I always have a great time when I do. I am so looking forward to playing on our cruise.:cool1:

I bought the electronic handset with the most number of cards each time I played. It cost 40$ the first day, and 50$ each consecutive day except for the final jackpot bingo which was 90$. I played at least once a day, and twice a day on the last day. It cost me 340$ for the entire 7 day cruise. Unfortunately I only won a door prize, but thankfully I had budgeted for this and had saved up plenty of money that I didn't feel too guilty playing bingo.

It really is a lot of fun!

I have to admit that the first time I played Bingo was on our Aug 16 DCL Alaska cruise. I thought it was expensive ... but it was fun and the DCL Bingo caller was pretty entertaining.

My mom, dad, and I shared the $30 paper card option for the first session (6 chances at each of 4 games). We each also got one free card for game 3 (can't remember why). We came close (within a number or two) a few times, but never won.

We never made it to any of the other sessions (and they had one where you could win spa prizes), but planned to go to the last one. My dad decided not to go this time and when my mom and I got there we discovered that the basic package had gone up to $40. We mulled it over for a minute and then just decided to go buy a few extra items from the gift shops ... DCL got our $40 just the same, but at least we walked away with some keepsakes too. :goodvibes

ETA ... OP, I just noticed your wedding date ... was that planned or a lucky coincidence? Either way, very cool.

On our 7-night cruise this past March the final jackpot was over $7000. Too bad we didn't win it.

I'm kind of a bingo noob--only played a few times years ago. What's the deal with electronic cards? Do you not have to mark them yourself? I'm just trying to figure out how that even works. :confused3

our 7 night Med the jackpot was $10,000 when we played on the sea day. We won $79 (It was a split three way prize) and it had cost us $60 to play so it worked for us!

No the cards mark themselves. You just have to yell BINGO.

Expensive--starts at $30 and goes up from there.

The 3 night we were just on the final jackpot Bingo was $5,000 and on the 4 night it was $10,000. It is a coverall, but you need to do it in 46 numbers.

It was fun and something to do, but I hate spending that much money. The bingo callers are a lot of fun. They have a song or joke that goes with almost every number. It is corny humor, but fun!

The electronic jobbies are pretty cool, you don't have to do anything, just watch the screen and it will show your best card and tell you how far away you are: Example: 3 numbers away on 6 cards.

You do have to yell Bingo though if you get it!

especially since Trevor was the host. :thumbsup2 I do hope he is the host again on our upcoming cruise.

I have a budgeted amount to play bingo for the family. My DD enjoys playing with the electronic device. She won $100 and was so excited. However, she was 1 number away from the jackpot and was so disappointed she didn't win. But again, we had fun!!

Is it $100 cash, or an onboard credit?

It was an onboard credit. The CM did say if we wanted cash, we had to go to guest services. We didn't care if it was onboard credit because my DD enjoyed buying snack in front of the Buena Vista theatre everytime she watched a movie and buying the non-alcoholic beverages at the bar. :rotfl:
