Okay, what can all you experienced cruisers tell me about bingo aboard the ships? Price, etc. Whether the "cards" are the paper sheets that you use a dobber on or hard cardboard with "buttons" to cover your numbers? Any and all info appreciated. Thanks!

when i went last september, they were using papery- kind of cardboard cards that were disposable, you just folded back the numbers as you got them, i do believe a set of 3 0r 4 cards for all the games was $20.

It is a jackpot bingo that is progressive and eventually there is usually a huge jackpot by the end of the week that might be thousands of dollars. there are various deals for the cards; some are as low as $15; but they usually have a value pack for around $30. They used to not let kids participate (legal issue) but now they can help their parents push the cards; but just cant claim "bingo." it must be an adult that calls it out and claims it. We never won, but it was fun on occasion and it seemed that people all around me were winning progressively bigger amounts of money. Barb

$10 for a single pack (5 cards, one per game) or
$20 for a value pack (15 cards, three per game)

I did not play when I went on the cruise in 2002, but my Mom wants to play when we go in Sept.

You all forgot to tell the best part....if you win a game they pay you in cash. Amounts vary for every game but the pot builds as the week goes by. The final jackpot game could be worth as much as $4500. if not more.
On one of our cruises I won a game everytime I played, I came away with a litttle over $400. in cash. I was only 1 number away from winning the final jackpot on that cruise. I guess I had packed my luck with me. Since that cruise I've only won about 3 times and all were small pots less than $70. each and I had to split them. It was great fun and I can't wait to go back and try again.

The jackpot on the 5/17 Eastern was over $8,000 a new DCL record. It seems to go up a bit each cruise!!!

I know we paid $35 for some value pack that gave you some raffle tickets as well. We spent over $200 on bingo that week and did not win anything...but it is a lot of fun!! They start the games in Rockin Bar D, but hold the jackpot bingo on Thursday in the Walt Disney Theatre...yes, it gets that crowded!!!

mmouse37 you all must of had a lot of players.

It is very easy to spend lots of money at Bingo. On our 7 day cruise, we spent about that much if not more, but than my dad split the big jackpot with another person.

On the 4 day we spent another good amount. Won a couple of times, but amounts were much smaller. It is much more fun on the 7 day with the larger amounts. Plus Robin was so much fun to play bingo with. It just isn't the same without him.

We were on the same cruise. It was over $8,600 I believe. I won the 2nd game the 1st day = $93. Didn't come anywhere near covering the rest of my bingo charges!! ;)

I think that on the last week in July the jackpot was over $11,000! This summer's cruise had a much larger attendance rate at Bingo than last summer. They added the $35 value pack. I did enjoy it more but our host was Andy and he was really fun.

I never got to play with Robin.

Robin was an awesome host at Bingo, but John was also very good and very entertaining. I hear Andy is doing well as host these days!!!

Bingo is GREAT!!! We just go back from the 8/16 western. DH and I played everyday. The jumbo packs are what most people get. They are $35.00, but it gives you 6 game cards per game. There are 5 games per session. THe cards themselves are paper, and you fold back the numbers. (DO NOT tear off the numbers or your card will not be valid.) Both DH and I won. I won $157.00 & he won $215.00. Not alot, but it paid for the cards.;) It is so much fun. Andy & Que were our hosts. They did a awesome job!! In between each game, they gave away raffle prizes. We won quite a few things. Travel mug, pins, bumper stickers, t- shirts, and little odds and ends. On the final day the jackpot was $8,000.00. Of course we didn't win that, but it was fun to try.

I have never thought about playing bingo on board but I'm sure to give it a try after hearing how much fun everyone has had, won anything or not. I've played bingo (no money) with family and friends but that's it. This should prove interesting!

Thanks,
T

Where do they hold the Bingo?

Do you remember what time you played? Is it the same everyday?

I remember reading there was Bingo that I could fit in after the early seating and before the show. Is that right?

Andy is a very fun Bingo man as is his cohorts!!!!! I loved playing when we went in July and it was $35 for the value pack which was 5 games with the last game being the jackpot game and an extra jackpot card was $15.

In July they had it in two places but was mainly in Rockin' Bar D. The jackpot one was in the Walt Disney Theater because the jackpot had not been hit (this was the last night). It was not the same time every day. On some days they had a raffle ticket that you got with your cards. The day I played it was for some stuff from Grand Cayman and some certificates for jewelry in Cozumel (it was the night before Cozumel).

Kids can come and sit and "play" but you have to be the one to claim the jackpot and any prizes!!!! ;)

Hey Ginger! Will you be joining me for a game on our cruise? LOL I was looking forward to playing bingo too!

Dizneprincess and Ginger - I'd love to play bingo too! We have a fundraiser at our elementary school that's called WINGO. (School's name is John H. West). It's always a fun night out! Can't wait to play on the ship!

Allright carole! Are you going to let Tessa play? I took CJ and Taylor to the local VFW here in town a few weeks ago and they liked it!
