Has anyone ever did BOC and had to pay at the end? We're having about 45 people for the wedding, half are drinkers and half are non drinkers. Just trying to figure out which route to go with the bar. Would like to know if anyone did BOC and wound up getting charged extra. TIA! :goodvibes

We did go over a little but in the end when we did the math it was still cheaper than a package bar. We had 38 people.

We did a brunch at ADH and did BOC. We got alot of money back. Our pre-reception was from 10:00 to 11:00 and our reception was 11:00 to 3:00. We had 50 people at our wedding.

I am considering doing this as well instead of a package bar. Our reception is from 4:30 to 8:30 and I don't see people getting hammered that early in the evening. We are having about 50 people and I think we could totally sell over 500$. One question I have for the people that did do BOC....how much did it end up costing per person on average????

We had an evening reception and had quite a few big drinkers, but some people that didn't drink at all. We ended up getting a good amount of money back and I know the estimate was less than the package bar. I'm not sure how much was from the bar and how much was from other last minute changes since the bill didn't specify, but it definitely worked out for us.

I think when I figured it out for the package to be worthwhile each person had to have at least 7 drinks. I didn't think that was really likely and I would rather pay for what people actually drank than pay more for the package.

I know this sounds like a silly question but how does BOC work? Do you pay in advance and how much do you pay? We are expecting about 100 people and maybe half of them are drinkers.

From Passporter's guide:
"Disney’s estimate of two drinks per person for the first hour and one drink per person each hour thereafter is used to calculate the cost of your hosted bar when you make your final payment 30 days before the event. The per-drink price used in these calculations depends on the cocktail cost of the type of bar selected: $6.00 each for Call Brands, $7.00 each for Premium Brands, or $8.75 each for Signature Brands. Pricing can be adjusted"

We decided on BOC too. We are having our pre-reception begin at 1pm with reception to follow. Our wedding will be on a Monday. When we first got the BOC info from Disney it came out to $6-$7 per drink, 6 drinks per person for the Call Brands. We know our guests won't drink that much on a Monday afternoon.

We did BOC. We also had a lot of drinkers at my wedding of 40 people and we got money back. I agree with what Sara said, I would rather pay for my guests actual drinks then a package and people end up not drinking.

Ok I have a question on the BOC how do they figure the rate for children? I am having about 35 people at my wedding and half of those are teens and little ones?

I think that's a great idea if you know most of the people aren't really big drinkers.

It would NEVER have worked for us though, lol.

Does anyone know if you just want to serve soft drinks, beer and a signature cocktail if you can do a BOC bar?

What if you have mostly wine drinkers? Does anyone think that would change the best way to do things?

Boc was an option but I could not handle the idea of not knowing how much more it could cost.
we had 50 at the reception, and got our money's worth.

But BOC can also prevent drunkenness do to the limited drink size, and repeat returns to the bar.

We were walking around with full glasses of wine, cocktails, beer.
At the time, soda cost almost as much as a beer so either way we made out.
But, we also did the bus transport to take guest back to the resorts.
