My Fiance and I are looking at doing a dinner for our reception. We have decided on a meal, cocktail hour snacks, and cake with our total coming to around $125 a person. I am wondering how a BOC bar counts towards the $150 minimum per person? If we did a BOC and our guests only drank an average of $20 worth of drinks ($145 total pp), how is that handled? We have many guests who are non-drinkers with a few heavy drinkers so we are thinking a bar package would be overkill. Would Disney just charge us the $150 pp if we didn't get to the $150 minimum? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

When you do BOC, Disney has a formula for figuring out how much they think your guests will drink so that they can bill you in advance when you make your final payment before the event. (After your event you get a refund if your guests drank less or are charged if they drank more.) That number will be what they count toward your overall food and beverage minimum of $150/person. :thumbsup2

For our dessert party open bar I think they charged us for 2 drinks per hour per person (kids included since they could drink pop) at the wine price ($7 per drink) and then refunded us based on actual drink consuption.

The formula is 2 drinks per person for the first hour, 1 drink for each hour thereafter, at the price of the whatever a cocktail costs in the type of bar you selected. That's $6.25 each for Call Brands, $7.50 each for Premium Brands, or $8.75 each for Signature Brands. If you just do wine, it's $7.00, and if you just do soda it's $4.25.

Thanks everyone for the answers!

One more thing that I was trying to ask but haven't gotten an exact answer.

Let's say with Disney's formula the BOC drink costs are $25pp which would bring my overall per person cost to exactly $150 If my guests did not meet the $25pp cost, would Disney still refund our money? Even though the overall cost per person would be less than $150.
