BIL got called up.

We have been waiting for this news since BIL has been on alert since early January. He got his orders last night to report to Columbus by 7AM Friday, then on for a year to parts unknown as of yet.
He is 35. He has been in the Army Reserves since 1990 and has never had to go away like this. His wife and mom are a mess. His daughters are 6,almost 5, and 2 1/2.
He is in the 1001 quartermaster unit. They will probably be attached to a hospital. Yes they are a support unit and he will most likely never see a front line, but who's to say that is safe in a place like Iraq or Afghanistan?
We are going out to dinner tonight at Chuck E. Cheese (he is trying to keep his girl's minds off of it). I didn't want to go, thought he should be with his family, but DH insists.
So if there is a thread for people with loved ones overseas, please add Sean and his family.

I totally understand. My DH has been Army National Guard for 20 yrs -- full time - not just weekends. We know so many that have already gone & come back; more going or already gone . DH's best friend is being deployed 2/17 for 1 yr. DH is going to his house tonight & we are all going out to eat Sunday.

I don't sleep much anymore. I'm getting jumpy everytime the phone rings. I know it's just a matter of time before they call for him.
