My teenage daughter is somewhat well endowed. She's interested in wearing a tankini or bikini this year, but most suits she's tried on in traditional junior stores are too revealing, especially on the top, for my liking. Any suggestions on where to look? I'd rather not spend an arm and a leg.

I am a D cup and a couple of years ago I bought some of Target's mix & match bikini separates. You can get a larger top if needed. The one I got was a halter style with reasonable coverage. I pulled out the "push up" pads and it was actually quite modest according to my own standards (I'm 33).

I found I usually have to remove the pads or else there isn't enough coverage for me.

I would try Target too. Most times I end up with a L or XL top and a S bottom from their swimsuit dept. Some of their suits are cut for Juniors (aka more revealing) and others are women's. Sometimes I will get a solid womens top because they have several styles and then pair it with a patterned bottom from the juniors stuff. :)

DD has the same issue and gets most of hers at places that have mix and match styles (Target, JC Penney, Kohls)

When DD was 13 we got our seperates at Kohl's. They were trendy covered her double digit top half and we were able to find a smaller size bottom.
This yr at sixteen we got her suits at Target and JC Pennys. I thought i was going to have to pay top dollar at a boutique because it is hard to find a suitable suit that we both agree on. I think shopping early for a bathing suit is important because then you will find the size you need.

GOOD LUCK!!

Look at places that allow you to mix and match tops and bottoms. I find great deals at Target, I'm a DD-DDD on top and the XL tankini tops are a bit tight but still fit. any place that allows mixing will be your best bet. Even Old Navy lets you mix and they always have a code for online or a coupon in store.

Lands End has bathing suits that you can order by bra size, including some bikinis and tankinis. They go up to size DDD. Unfortunately, I think they're rather pricey, but they go on sale at the end of the season, and there are often codes. I have a one-piece that looks great and has held up well. And I love that it doesn't show too much cleavage or require constant adjusting.

Here's a bikini:

And a tankini:

freya brand bikini's are my best friend i'm a 32f on the top and a small/extra small on the bottom. they cost alot but will last years!

Land's End is definately the best for being bigger up there. I purchased two last year and I LOVE them. Mine are one pieces though. I love that you can buy by the bra size.

Had same issue with my modest 13 year old dd who is also a dd -- was able to find nice pair of separates at Target. Small swim shorts for the bottoms and a tankini top that is cut straight across instead of in a V. Good luck!

I got my recent swim top at Land's End in the "Overstocks" section of their website. I think it was $10. Fits well, covers what it should. :) I also have a tankini I found at TJ Maxx that is cute but fairly modest.

Jcp had some mix and match suits that were really cute and reasonable. Several of the tops were in bra sizes.

this year JCP came out with a new line that has built in bra that are AMAZING!! I wear a 40DD and they had it:worship: and it fits great and make them stand up tall an:rotfl:d proud

gorgeous sets for about $22-$25 a piece(top and bottom) I got the turq blue dotted top with a silver ring in the front, with the turq mini skirt and it looks great

I used jcpenny online, and got quite a few really cute, supportive tops last summer. The baithing suits were the kind where you purchase the top and bottom seperately. They lasted and still look great... good quality for the price!

Victoria Secret on line! Their sale prices are great.

They are by bra size and have very good support if you are well endowed.
They also are young. My DD got several from here when she was in High School.

She also has a couple from Lands end.

Target ones did not have enough support or coverage but mainly the support.

Lucky brand makes tops to fit her size, I know because I am dd. they aren't cheap but cheap won't support her either. They have some that crisscross in the back and are very supportive. I also buy suits from northshoreswimwear.com, they custom make them to fit you from your measurements. They are fabulous to work with and not super expensive. I hope this helps , I feel her pain ;)
