biking from boardwalk

Boyfriend and I will be down in feb and i would like us to rent bikes for the day from the boardwalk. How far can we go on those? Can we reach the fantasia golf courses by the swan? How about downtown disney?

The bikes they rent from boardwalk are surrey bikes and they can only be taken around the lake, you could not take them off the path. Fantasia Golf could be reached by walking. Downtown Disney is not walkable. Even if they rented regular bikes you would not want to take them out on the road between BW and Downtown Disney, it's a busy road.

I believe they rent bikes at the Community Hall at the Boardwalk. When we checked into it, the paths you could use were very limited. This was several years ago, so I am not sure if they are still there.

I believe you must be staying in the villas to rent these bikes. You can do it if you are not DVC, but you have to show your KTTW card proving that you're a guest there.

If you want to do some fun bike riding, go over to Fort Wilderness. There's plenty of trails and lots of fun things to see and do.

There are bikes over at the Yacht Club marina to rent, however, you can't take them off property.

Most of the WDW roads are more like limited access interstates not anything you could ever think of biking on.

Yes for all you cyclists that commute on your bikes, I would love to, I understand share the road and biking laws and such, but I don't think there is much of a biking culture in the area.

You can easily walk to Fantasia from the Boardwalk. Just head to the Swan resort - it's across the street. Maybe a 10 minute walk from the BWI/BWV lobby.
