We are going to BCV at the end of July...not planning on doing the parks each day. Has anyone taken bikes to WDW to ride throughout the complex....EPCOT/Boardwalk area to Downtown Disney, etc. How did it work out?

Never done this - interesting idea though - are there bike racks at the park entrances - I doubt they would let anyone take a bike in the park but that would make it easier to get from ride to ride or country to country in WS.... :earseek:

Thanks

I have yet to see anyone ride bikes outside of the Resort they are staying at. Many of the roads at WDW aren't that safe to bike/walk along because of traffic. The road system consists of highways (ex. World drive), main thoroughfares (ex. Buena Vista drive) and smaller roads (ex. Community Drive). You will have to navigate all this while dealing with many buses and cars.

From the BCV you might be able to bike the path from there to MGM very easily, since that is a walking path. Also, from OKW to PI there is a walking path you could bike along. The problem is getting from BCV to OKW safely by bike.

If you are used to biking in a busy urban area you might try it. Otherwise, restrict the biking to within the Epcot Resort area only.

We intend on getting a couple comfortable bikes ( as opposed to our 10 speed, skinny seat, bend over while you pedal speed bikes) to take on our Dec VWL trips. We will pedal over to FW and explore the camp ground. I've never seen bikes out on the WDW roads, don't even know if you're allowed to.

I would say bikes are allowed only at the resort you are staying at. The roads are much to dangerous for bikes, the insurance companys would never allow it.
