Hi Everyone-

We're set to go on our first ABD trip to Italy on August 1st (Rome, Tuscany & Venice). Im wondering if there are any opportunities to go for a bike ride during free time in Tuscany. Nothing too intense- just a leisurely ride with DH, DS & DD. Not sure if the area is conducive or if there are rental places- but I appreciate any info! TIA!

If I remember correctly, there isn't much that is near the Tuscany hotel. It's in a beautiful part of the country and there is a paved path you can take to the next village. Some people in our group walked it, but I don't remember how far they said it was. You may want to call ABD to see if the hotel has or rents bicycles. I don't remember seeing any when I did the tour three years ago, but things may have changed.

The Tuscany hotel will not be a leisurely ride if you get a bike. It's a tough walk, iirc, with lots of incline. So biking won't likely be easy.

My family did this tour a few years ago and the hotel in Tuscany had bikes which you could borrow and many people took advantage of this in our free time. Not sure what hotel you are staying at but it might be worth going to the website and checking.
