I'm guessing the answer to this is yes, but I don't want to assume... We're tentatively planning a trip for late August, staying in the cabins, and for the first time ever we'll be driving down so I was planning to take the kids' bikes. Are there places to lock them up near the boat launch? Outpost? Meadows pool?

Also, does Disney rent bikes that have a baby seat? I'm not going to bring mine since it won't do as transportation to buses/boats (haven't figured out how to carry the stroller while biking :rotfl: ), but I was thinking maybe I'd rent one just for our no-parks, enjoy the resort day.

They have bike racks at all of those locations,Not sure about the Cabins themselves.

At the cabin I figure we'll make do with chaining the bikes to the deck rail or locking them in the back of the van if it looks like rain. I just wanted to be sure we'd have a place to lock up DS13's stupid-expensive bike when we're busy doing other things!

That's funny. I used to be a long distance cyclist and always took my bike on vacation. The "stupid-expensive" comment is exactly what my wife said when I bought my last bike. It actually went something like, "$5000 FOR A BIKE! That's stupid-expensive". My only response was, "It does have a lot of carbon fiber on it and it rides really nice." She wasn't impressed.

I always take my bike (even now that I'm fat and lazy). I always found a place to lock it up at the fort.

Disney emplyees ran my wife's bike over when chained to a tree. They gave us a rental for the rest of the trip and a number to call with a claim number to replace the bike. That turned out to be a nightmare. They wouldn't do anything because we didn't have a receipt for the bike. The bike was over 5 years old and was not very expensive. We never resolved the situation.

I got run over by a Chem Lawn truck while I was on the bike in St Pete. Accidents happen. At least Disney offered to make it right and gave you a free rental. I would have gone to a bike shop and gotten a quote for a replacement bike. When someone hits your car, they don't ask for the receipt. They want quotes to repair. That's what I did when I got run over. I was fine, unclicked and jumped/fell out of the way, but the truck ran over the front wheel and dragged the bike scratching up the rear wheel and a pedal. The company said go to any bike shop I wanted, buy new wheels, tires and pedals and bring them the bill. All done in 24 hours.
