This will be our home for the challenge. Here you will find the QOTD (Question of the Day), the COW (Challenge of the Week), and a list of our participants as well as the results from the weigh ins and the COW.

Did 30 minutes of free step this morning on the Wii Fit! I'm so ready for this challenge!

I posted this on the old thread, but thought I'd copy it here too since that thread will be closed. We must have been posting at the same time.

Hi, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Cindy. I am 45, have been married for 12 yrs and have 3 beautiful (IMO) children ages 7, 4 & 4. I work 30 hrs a week in the lab at a biotech company. I have been a runner for the last 30 yrs, but have always struggled with my weight. I am currently training for a marathon in October and plan to run the Goofy(1/2 marathon and marathon both) at WDW in January. Over the last 2 yrs I've lost 40 lbs and am now at the lowest weight I've been since college. I still have 10 - 15 lbs to get to my goal weight. I love to exercise, but finding the time is a challenge. My biggest challenge is my addiction to sweets. I wish I could have 1 or 2 cookies and not feel like I have to eat the entire bag. I'd like to find a balance between fueling my body and treating my sweet tooth. I took the Sparkpeople challenge and it says I'm on my way. I will really need to work on maintaining my motivation when things get tough. I look forward to this challenge with all of you.

QOTD (Question of the Day) If you were at WDW or DL right now, where would you be and what would you be doing?

If I were at DL right now, I would be eating breakfast and getting ready to be at the gate in an hour for Magic Morning (like early entry). If I was at WDW now, I would be riding Pirates of the Caribbean. pirate:

I would be at magic kingdom crying as I watch the opening ceremony! I'm tearing up right now because I'll be there two months from today! Then we'll probably head to buzz and ride that as many times as we can til the line starts to build.

Great question Lisa. Good motivation to stay on track with a future trip planned.

Looks like a big group which is awesome!! Wouldn't it be great if it was just as big in december. We could lose so much weight!!

I'd love to join! My name is Kelly. I'm 29. I'm a SAHM who is returning to school in the spring. and overall have about 95 pounds to lose. Writing that out is hard because I never realized I'd let it get so bad. Vanity sizing doesn't help, either. ;)

My goals throughout the challenge:

1. Lose about 25 lbs.
2. Do some form of exercise/movement daily.
3. Dust off those Turbo Jam disks I spent way too much on and never used.
4. NOT QUIT.

I'm so looking forward to getting to know you all! Thanks for having me!
 
Fun question! If I was at WDW right now I'd be walking down Main St to Buzz and DH and I would be telling DD she can get autographs later! :lmao: I'd also be enjoying the Halloween decorations as we walk around and thinking about the MNSSHP we're going to (in my WISH day at MK ha ha) Thanks for the trip! :thumbsup2

It would be great if our group was just as big in December. I am wondering if we should set a team goal for total pounds lost -- I think we lost a bit over 250 in the summer as a group. Maybe shot for 500 pounds as a group -- that is very doable.

QOTD (Question of the Day) If you were at WDW or DL right now, where would you be and what would you be doing?

I would be waiting for rope drop at MK, getting ready to stroll down Main Street taking in all the sites, before heading to my favorite ride of all time the Haunted Mansion!! I would definitely be taking time to take pictures of all the fall decorations that are up right now!!

Worked out this morning and planning to walk after school!! I'm so ready for the challenge to begin!!

Once again a huge thank you to all of you who have taken the time to put all of this together...you guys are AMAZING!!!
 
QOTD (Question of the Day) If you were at WDW or DL right now, where would you be and what would you be doing?

If I was at WDW right now I'd be trying to wake my kids up so we can start rockin' and rollin' -- being west coasters has always thrown off our sleep due to the time change and we've yet to make it to a rope-drop!

I would be at the Magic Kingdom deciding what rides we are going on with the kids and trying to talk DD8 to go on Expedition Everest with us. DD6 LOVES it so it is one of the things she wants to do multiple times. Me, I would want to go on the TTA. I love having that 'birds eye' view of the park and watching all the people run around.

If I was at Magic Kingdom right now - my family and I would probably be grabbing fast passes for Buzz and then getting in line so we definitely get to ride it at least twice :thumbsup2

If I was at WDW or DL, it would be day 1 of the trip, and I'd be at DL or (MK) starting the day by checking letting the girls get autographs if they want, and then heading onto the train for a ride around the park. Its tradition that the first ride of a trip to Disney is always the train around the park. We never make it there for rope drop, and its really not the most efficient way to start the trip, but its our tradition and I love it. DD7 and DD4 know the tradition and I love it being our family thing :goodvibes

I definitely think a group goal is a great idea! And 500 is very possible! I'll add that into the Top Losers Results post!
Everybody, please feel free to speak up with ideas for information you'd like to see in the results post. Next week, there will not be a normal results post, since we are all just starting out, but I will post some kind of starting stats on Tuesday :goodvibes

And its kind of ironic, but my WiiFit has died, and that's what I use as my scale, so I might not be able to weigh in tomorrow. I find it funny that the weightkeeper might not be able to weigh in :lmao: Oh well, I'll use last week's number if I have to.:lmao: I'll be phoning Nintendo today to see if its fixable or what (warranty expired). I checked at Walmart and its $40 for a decent scale, or $100 for a new WiiFit (CDN$).

QOTD (Question of the Day) If you were at WDW or DL right now, where would you be and what would you be doing?

Tower of Terror - first choice both coasts. :-) I was so pleasantly surprised by how different the ride is in DCA! Cleaner, less creepy, but very, very fun! Although FACT: DCA won't be open for another 2 hours, so in reality, we'd probably be at DL riding the very awesome West Coast version of Space Mountain.

For those people talking about doing their first race:

You can do it - a 5K is a very doable goal and there are many excellent programs to help your body learn to run. The main things you need are commitment and a pair of running shoes. When I started in 2007, 5K sounded incredibly long. The great thing about a 5K is that it is also a very walkable distance - you don't have to run the whole thing or any of it, really!

I had a request to show a picture of my Coast to Coast medal. I also got one of my Coast to Coast trio. :)

QOTD (Question of the Day) If you were at WDW or DL right now, where would you be and what would you be doing?

If I were at WDW right now I'd be having breakfast at the Crystal Palace.
At least according to my Disney schedule- I keep a schedule going year round even though I don't even have a trip planned! Sounds crazy but it makes me happy to plan even when I can't go.
Corinnak - I'd love to do the Expedition Everest Challenge in 2010 but boy, am I ever out of shape. You inspire me!:yay:
 
If we were at WDW right now, we'd be at our counter service for lunch...if we're at MK, hopefully at Columbia Harbor House as that is my favorite CS there. We've discovered that if you go to a CS restaurant in the park on the early side of lunch time (11:45ish or so) they are usually not very crowded and you can pretty easily find a table.
