Biggest Loser 8 Fall Challenge -- for losers and maintainers!

I have been trying to get to the Grand Canyon for YEARS its seems every time the trip is planned SOMETHING gets in the way.

I would also like to go to NYC.

My dream trip would be to tour the US all at one. Going up & down zig-zagging accross the US. I haven't really travelled much. Except MANY trips to Disneyland and 1 trip to WDW.

I would also love to travel across the country. Maybe when we retire.

Feel better! DH was up during the night and will probably stay home tomorrow from work. He took a nap this afternoon which he NEVER does!

Sunday QOTD:

We plan to go to England in a few years to visit my husband's family. DMIL died 3 yrs ago so we want to go see her family still over there.
We also have dreams of going to Hawaii and Australia!

Hope to find some time to work out tomorrow. Didn't eat much today so hopefully I'll be down tomorrow. Didn't walk much either or drink water today. Think I'll go have some water now and watch some of the Emmys. Busy week ahead!
Can't wait until next Saturday to see the Christmas Carol Train in Boston and meet some of you guys! I'll be in an orange Tigger shirt and try to put tigger813 on it this week:) We'll be going to Fire and Ice for the lunch and then seeing the train as DD and DH have a soccer game at 9. If it rains we'll head to the train first! Can't WAIT!!!!!

Sunday's QOTD:

Besides Disney where is someplace that you would like to vacation at

I would like to go to all theme parks in the world!!!! LOVE LOVE thrill rides :)

Hooray I got my clippie to work!

QOTD: tigger813 - I think we can be travel buddies ;) We would love to go to Hawaii and Australia, and plan to get to Scotland (not quite England but close enough lol) in a few years to visit family.

I'm sorry to read that so many people are feeling sick. I hope you all feel better and are working out again soon!! :grouphug: Tis the season isn't it? I had some kind of stomach thingy last week too. Fortunately no head colds or upper respiratory - I'm knocking wood and taking vitamins!

Saturday QOTD:

What are your favorite go to breakfasts while losing weight or maintaining?

My favorite breakfast is a serving of low fat granola mixed up with a serving of strawberry low fat yougurt. Very nice!

Sunday's QOTD:

Besides Disney where is someplace that you would like to vacation at

Spain! My roomate in college was from Spain and I have always wanted to visit there, maybe because of Don Quixote too!

Sunday QOTD: Besides Disney, where is someplace you would like to vacation at?

Vacation somewhere besides Disney? Oh, the horror! :rotfl:

I guess a Disney cruise ship could take me to other places. I think Riviera Maya would be neat with the ancient ruins. I wouldn't mind going to Viet Nam, but only to visit my brother. I keep trying to talk him into coming home, and I told him if he comes back before Thanksgiving he can tag along on our Disney trip! He couldn't find a job here, so he's teaching English at a couple different colleges over there. He turned 30 last week and had to spend his birthday alone. I'm hoping after having some teaching experience under his belt he'll be able to get a job at one of our local colleges or something.

Well, My sister just told me this am that she can't afford to go to WDW with me. I just keep reading the Solo Board to get my nerve up!

I've travelled quite a bit but I love to see;
Boston, more of NYC, Texas and the US west in general. DisneyLand in Japan and Hong Kong would be so much fun.

I didn't do very well today eating wise, and my sister was celebrating her horse riding achievements (at 53 and a beginner, she's amazing) so, of course, we had to have drinks tonight. I feel so-o-o-o solid - especially around my waist. I'm going to have to starve to lose any weight.
I read everything that you all write in hopes of finding inspiration:grouphug:

QOTD:
After traveling to Sweden and Denmark to coach soccer with my daughter's team this summer- I now officially have the travel bug. Germany and Hawaii on on the radar for next year- and perhaps a Disney cruise. We are "staying" at WDW for my 40th this year, but my hubby turns 40 the day before our 10th anniversary next November (2010) and we will have to celebrate with a special trip of his choosing.

Sunday's QOTD:

Besides Disney where is someplace that you would like to vacation at?

Does Tokyo Disney count as "besides Disney"? :rotfl: Seriously, Japan is at the top of my bucket list, with Australia/New Zealand and Ireland close behind.

Sunday's QOTD:

Besides Disney where is someplace that you would like to vacation at?

For the family, Hawaii probably tops our collective lists. For just me? Italy all the way. I had Latin as a second major in college (the faculty was fantastic and it was only a 7 course major, so it just kind of happened) and I have never gotten to tour Rome. I would also like to spend some time in Cinque Terra, Florence, Venice and Sardinia!

Today was one of those weird days. I ran 8.6 miles before 9am, but then had a big brunch after church. I tallied it all up pretty well and I think I've managed to make things balance. Does anyone else find that if you're pretty restrained a lot of the time and then have a day or two with more food than usual, you see a bigger loss that week?

I would like to visit Australia, South Africa, Japan, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Alaska, Hawaii. So I will stop there.

One of my goals is to visit all 50 states and all 7 continents and as many countries as possible. I have been on 3 continents- North America, South America and Europe. I have been to about 30 states I think, I do not feel like counting now.

I want to sky dive,
Wog a half/full marathon (I am starting the C25k on Monday.)
Do a triathlon
Write a children's book
Start a non-profit organization(s) one to ensure that all kids have what they need for school, including clothing, shoes, costumes, books, school supplies, field trip money and supplies, instruments, sporting uniforms/equipment, etc. Public school is so costly. This would also include after school enrichment type programs. The other or another component would be to ensure that all kids get to go to camp. IMO camp gives kids so many opportunities to learn and grow.

All right, friends, I've created a Couch to 5K thread for our challenge. If you're interested, please stop by! We can talk about the training program, share successes and concerns and generally have fun becoming runners! If you're not interested, that is OK too, obviously! :)

Thanks for sharing this thread... I am doing the CIBC RUn for the Cure on October 4 & I am using the Couch to 5k so the thread is a BIG help thanks...

Wow I finally caught up & here are the QOTD that I have missed… I just haven’t had time to check the boards this week… On Thursday I spent from 2 p.m. till 12 a.m. at the hospital with my mom they think she either had a mini stroke or an inner ear disease… BUT thank god she is doing way better… So hopefully the stress doesn’t show up on this week coming up weigh in but this week I lost 6 pounds :cool1:I am so happy that all my hard work is paying off…So here are my QOTD for awhile!
Saturday / Sunday QOTD: Do you plan your menu daily, weekly or just make it up as you go?
I have find it way easier to plan my meals since I have 2 jobs so I have to take 2 meals to one job twice a week. But I am finding myself kind of in a rut. I seem to eat the same thing over & over again

Monday QOTD: What motivates you on your weight loss journey?
I am not sure what motivates me. I love the way I feel when I exercise (which I hate) & when I eat healthy.

Tues QOTD: What's your favourite Disney movie? cartoon, live-action, whatever you like
My Favorite Disney movie is a tough one its either Lilo & Stitch or Toy Story. I think Lilo & Stitch is such a beautiful drawn & coloured movie. My favourite live-action is Pirates of the Caribbean all of them! Will Turner is YUMMY!!

Wed QOTD:
Its a fact of life, that you will have to deal with stress. What non-food thing do you do to de-stress?
My non-food way of dealing with stress is yoga & listening to my iPod. Another thing is anything related to planning a WDW trip. I am a trip planning spreadsheet person & I LOVE making Disney Spreadsheets!!

Thursday QOTH: Its time for another fun question. How old were you on your first trip to Disneyland or DisneyWorld? And what's one (or more) of your favourite Disney memories (either at a park, cruise ship, or even just watching Disney)? My first trip was when I was 10 to Disney World with my family. I remember thinking the drop in POTC was huge & then riding the ride as an adult it wasn’t so big. I also remember wanting to ride Space Mountain but no body wanting to ride with me.

Friday's QOTD:
List the top 5 things that you have always wanted to learn how to do or know more about.
1. Run a Disney Marathon
2. Learn more about Yoga
3. Learn to speak another language
4. To paint
5. Rock Climb

Saturday QOTD:
What are your favorite go to breakfasts while losing weight or maintaining?

My is Sunny Boy Whole Grain Hot Cereal with Wheat, Rye & Flax (I add 2 tsp. more of flax), 1 cup of either fresh berries or frozen & some cinnamon

Sunday's QOTD:
Besides Disney where is someplace that you would like to vacation at?

I would love to go to Australia & travel more around Canada I have been to the west but I would love to go east ward.

Thanks & I hope everyone has a great week!!

Sun quotd--India.
I really wouldn't know how to go about it but I went to an estate sale once and they had tons of stuff from India around the house (you could tell touristy stuff-- but old. Made it seem more like a real thing someone could do. I love many aspects of the culture.

Susan, I just finished Deathly Hallows not too long ago. I loved it and I was alot happier at the end of that book than I was at the end of Half Blood Prince.

Yeah happy ending-- and the amazing part is no one spoiled it for me. I didn't like waiting for installments of the Green mile so that's one of the main reasons why I put it off so long. I don't know how people could stand to wait--especially after Half Blood Prince...the last 2 movies should be great!
All in all a good day. Feeling a bit guilty about eating 2 peeps and drinking some hot chocolate. It's starting to get chilly here at night though-- I was cold!

*ps my little Ginny is so amazing-- tough lil' broad. I want to start taking some good pics of her this week as she has gained quite a bit of weight and is all shined up.:littleangel: I really do need to start messing with my camera more anyway. I'll get a pic up soon. Our friend said all the other cats were gone too so I know they were taken care of by the considerable self operating crazy cat lady community around here.

Saturday QOTD:

What are your favorite go to breakfasts while losing weight or maintaining?

I like the Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal (2points). :goodvibes

Sunday's QOTD:

Besides Disney where is someplace that you would like to vacation at?

I'd to eventually do a road trip across Canada. We've done lots of travelling, but haven't yet taken the time to go all the way across Canada. Eventually we'll take 4 weeks and get all the way over to PEI.:goodvibes

I'm thrilled to report we've got 64 weigh-ins for the Sept 18th weigh in!

But there's still 34 people I haven't heard from yet! There's no pressure to report in, this is a friendly reminder in case you've just forgotten:

morning all  another monday...sigh

gloomy weather here in central ohio..sure makes it harder to get motivated and jump into the day starting with a WATP...but i will b/c i know different resutls come from different actions and this week I want to LOSE!

QOTD sunday -- i love to travel and high on my list is Western Europe, Alaskan cruise (sadly won't be next summer on DCL), New England coastline and the Western-Nothern most region of the US

here we go into another week......LET'S MAKE IT COUNT!

ohmom - gloomy here in Indy today too and you're right it does make it hard to exercise doesn't it? I saw your sig...going to the GF with your DH for a conference...wow!!! That will be so fun!!!

I walked my dogs this morning - they are so excited it's like Christmas for them when we go! What a great life actually - Christmas every day right? :rotfl2: I also did the bowflex, so I'm good for the day. :thumbsup2 Now to drink my water and floss my teeth. :D

It is fantastic that this board is so active - it's great to catch up in the mornings!

I was wondering, though, what everyone is doing to achieve their weight loss? Are there a lot of Weight Watchers on the board? What are other things people are doing?

I'm just straight up calorie counting - I found WW required too much thought on my part to figure out the points values for things, so I've been using www.livestrong.com/dailyplate to track my calorie consumption and exercise.

Besides Disney where is someplace that you would like to vacation at?

I want to see more areas in the North (each region is very unique) and not just North America. Still need to see Easter Canada. I want to see Ireland, Germany and Australia. Also a few pics of St. Lucia have sold me.
