Good Friday Morning. Had too many things going on that I forgot to weigh in this morning. Ds2 had to register for orientation and you could do that starting this morning. We didn't want to be in the last registration so it was on my mind to do it first thing this morning. I wanted to do it as soon as I got up but I waited for ds to do it. The other thing on my mind is ds1 is graduating tomorrow and I had to make sure that his gown was steamed this morning since he is leaving to pack his car and clean out his room in the apartment.

Don't forget the following from Joanne(JOANNEL)
Please report your weight using the number of pounds ie xxx pounds
If you would like to add your change for the week that is OK ie I lost 2 pounds. Remember weights can be reported in 1/10 of pound increments ie xxx.x pounds.

Please report by midnight Friday
If you are late report as soon as you remember. I know sometimes RL (real life) is more important.

Please PM or email your weekly report to Joanne (JOANNEL )

Now folks, help out a weight keeper here please!! Please report your weekly weight to Joanne by PM or email to jlabbe@sterlingresorts.com . Remember to report by midnight Friday and remember to report in pounds ie xxx pounds (not just I lost x pounds). PrettyPlease!!

Have a great day. I hope everyone has some great numbers. I am going to wait until next week to weigh in. Tomorrow is graduation day.

Sorry but I have to brag He had a 4.0 this semester:banana:

Congrats to your son! My daughter is graduating on the 29th.

My weight is unchanged this week. I'm not surprised. I could have done better. This is a new day and a new week so onward from here. Hope everyone else did better!

Mary

Dona, congratulations to your son! (Both of them actually graduation and AP tests.) It's amazing the changes that can be made when someone really wants to. We can look at all of the successes here for examples of that as well!!

I am down 1 this week. Works for me since I thought I was looking at another maintaining week. I am officially now at my lowest in 5 years. And 5 years ago was my lowest for years before that. It's also where I lost focus and regained it all and more. This time though, it is just a jumping off point for moving onward and downward!

I'm really holding out hope for a good week this week. I am going to being a FT SAHM to a FT nanny. DD5 and I will start nannying for 3 girls on Monday (11mo, 5yo, 10yo). I'm really working this week to get a working schedule in mind that gets in my exercise and good meal planning. I will not let the sudden changes throw me off track! I can still very easily make my goal by our Dec trip and I will do so. :cheer:

Very happy to report the "scale gods" have finally rewarded me for all my hard work....I lost 3 lbs. this week. :worship: :worship: I also lost another inch off my waist, making it a total of -3 inches in the last 3-4 weeks. Gotta love the Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds series!!! Goodluck to all..hope you are also blessed.

Also, congrats to the new grads this weekend. Parents you must be soooo proud! My son is a third year business student and this week made the Dean's list for the 6th time. Next year will be our big graduation party!!

I'm down 1.5 for the week :)

and congrats to all the graduates (and parents of!) around here - very exciting!

and donac - good for you for getting your DS's gown steamed .... I forgot to iron mine for my undergrad graduation (I was an RA, I ran out of time) and I think it annoyed my mom :lmao: she made sure my gown was nicely pressed for my grad school graduation!

wezee I think I found your 3 lbs, lol... I am up 3.6 lbs this week. I'm not surprised as I was a human garbage disposal this week :sad2: I knew what I wanted to eat but my body just did it's own thing and didn't listen to me... no exercise either... and TOM is knocking on the door. I was such a grouch this week i didn't even do any of the challenge. I did take the test and scored a 58.

On the bright side... even though it is pouring down rain here in pa, my big giant PMS cloud is clearing up so hopefully a better week is in store... that and I am still considering my self part of this challenge, that is big for me...i not quitting!!

Congrats to all the grads (and parents too)!!
Happy Mothers Day!!

I made it to the 0s! Next stop One-derland. I have been hovering at 210. something for 4 weeks, so I am thrilled to finally beat that plateau! I am down less than a pound from last week, but it is a huge deal to say I weigh 209! :woohoo:

I'm down 4 lbs this week...YEAH ME!:cool1: I broke 200 also!
I finally put it into gear and combined eating well and excersizing in the same week and it paid off.

A friend at the gym shared her secret to weight loss (60 lbs in 3 months) I thought for sure she was using meds or something, but it was the simplest "diet" I have ever heard of (and I'm convinced that it works now that I lost so much this week!). She stopped eating after 5PM, cut out soda and never denied herself what she craved or wanted. BUT, she practice portion control of those things she wanted. If she wanted cheescake for dessert at a restaurant then she only ate 1/2-1/4 of her "meal" and took the rest home for lunch the next day.
If she craves chocolate-she eats a miniature candy bar or 1 inch of a regular one-then throws the rest out...deep in the trash can under the yucky stuff where she won't try to rescue it!
I've heard it said before, but for some reason it "clicked" this week.
THought if I retold it here, it might click for someone else!
Good luck everyone!

This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself .

Relationships
1 Take the quiz at http://www.quiztron.com/tests/friend__quiz_41309.htm What kind of friend are you?- discuss with group (10 points)
2 Make special time to spend with a loved one where you actually get to talk (so helping the kids with homework or sitting with your spouse in front of the TV does not count) (10 points per half hour- max 60)
3 Call/visit your mother or father (or another special person if they are no longer with you) just to say "hi." (10 points)(Hint hint. It is mother's day)
4 Plan a trip or visit with a loved one that lives far away. Make it a point to actually follow through. This may mean planning a summer 2009 visit, but at least they know you want to see them. (10 points)
5 Discuss with the group how your relationships affect your weight loss. Are these people enablers? How can you work around that? Do they love you no matter what? How does that help or harm your efforts? Discuss (10 points)

This challenge is meant to motivate you...not to stress you! You may choose to complete one or two of the tasks, or all of them. Let this challenge be want you need it to be.....to CHALLENGE YOU!

The challenge will begin on Saturday 12:01 a.m. May 10 and ends on Friday May 16 at midnight. PM your total points to Raenstorim or email to ferretfeet@gmail.com by noon on Monday May 19.

Suggestion – print out the task list and keep it handy to mark off each time you complete one for easy and accurate record

Have fun!
:thumbsup2

And one last thought as we wrap up stress week

Tips for Managing Stress

Accept only your own responsibility in situations.

Set realistic expectations for yourself.

Focus on the process rather than the results.

Focus on successes rather than on failures.

Develop your own personal definition of success, instead of society's.

Be realistic about time expectations and perspectives.

Remember, life does have troublesome problems. This is normal.

Recognize that you will be criticized more than praised by parents, partners, and supervisors.

Create variety: do old things in new ways.

Make your work/study area more stimulating: redecorate, add music, change colors.

Leave the office/campus for lunch and errands, if possible.

Learn to be detached from problems.

Do paperwork immediately. Don't procrastinate.

Ask others for positive feedback.

Develop a hobby and spend time on it regularly.

Learn and practice sound money management.

Don't bring work home with you.

Decrease television time.

Keep physically fit — good diet and adequate exercise.

Avoid excessive use of alcohol and drugs.

Spend time in active family activities.

Well, down 3 lbs even this week... kind of a surprise given my slip up earlier in the week:rolleyes1 , but I have been hitting the treadmill hard every day, so it seems to have helped with the slip. :confused3

Good luck to everyone this week, and congrats to the grads and parents. :thumbsup2

Hey everyone! Congrat's to all those who have ones who are graduating!

I lost 1 pound this week - YEAH moving downard!

I've been getting up and walking with a friend. Course it rained two days and she couldn't walk on Tuesday. I still was able to do a 3.5 walk Sunday afternoon and a 2 mile walk on Monday and Wednesday. Hopefully we will get a full week next week.

Congratulations to the new grads!!
Congratulations to all those who have maintained or lost.
I am down 1.5 this week. I do see it as good and bad, wish for more, but happy for what has occured.
Have a great weekend and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the Moms.

Congrats to all the losers.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers.

DOn't forget last week's challenge is on page 2 of last week's thread.

My last thing to do is for my challenge is to talk about dealing with stress.

I like to do handiwork when I am stressed out. I will knit or crochet. It has to be something simple so that I can pray while I am doing it. Pray helps me a lot.

On the not so healthy side I have a tendency to over eat when I am stressed. By doing some hand work I can't really eat since I like to keep my hands nice and clean.

Have a great weekend. I don't think I will be here much.

Hi all!!! :wave2:

Well, it's the start of another week - ARE WE READY?!?!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I know I am - I'm loving how I feel :woohoo: :yay:

I didn't do so great with my weight loss this past week - I stayed the same :guilty: I'm trying not to feel bummed out about it, and I keep telling myself I worked really hard with my workouts, and watching what I eat, and it will come off eventually:thumbsup2

I did better with my points that I thought I would - I have 65 for last week:woohoo:

I took the friend test today, and my results are "the compassionate friend" which I am ::yes:: People know that when they tell me something personal, that it goes "in the vault" and it doesn't come out :sad2: The results said I was a pushover though, and I don't agree with that :sad2:

What are you all doing for Mother's Day?
My mom is going to go to church with me and my girls on Sunday morning, and then she, and the rest of my family are coming over for dinner. We are also celebrating my mom's birthday (that was in April), my SIL's birthday that was on the 6th, and my dad's bday that is on the 13th - so this is a multi-purpose day :thumbsup2

Well, I gotta finish my yogart, and then I have to get back to work

Congrats to all the losers this past week, and I hope we all have big losses next week:wizard:

Have a great day!!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all!!
Congratulations to all the parents of graduates what an accomplishment for you and them!!! What a proud parent moment..
I am down 1.4 still doing well. Running in my first 5k on Mother's Day very excited about that hope it goes well.

Hi!

Good job this week everyone. So glad wezeee had a breakthough!

Congrats grads and parents of grads!

Happy Mother's Day!!

I'm down 1 pound overall this week, which is good since I did zero exercise. I've been having lower back pain, so my motivation has been low. No biggie. I'll get to the Chiro. on Mon. and it'll be all good again.

I took the friend quiz:
The Playful Friend

"Should we go surfing or to the amusement park today?" You're fun and adventurous, and friends come to you when they're looking to have a good time. Best Quality: You're up for anything and people regard you as entertaining. Worst Quality: You're intimidating, and people find it harder to be really close with you.

Don't know what to think about the last part. :confused3 I see myself as fun, sarcastic, funny, goof ball etc.. But I do have really serious side and I think too much. I'm honest, keep confidences, and am fiercely loyal. I'm not very guarded. My life is pretty much an open book. I expect relationships to be a 2 way street though. I don't want to be the only one who calls or makes plans.

Thanks for the list of tips Raenstoirm!!

The scale proved what I was feeling....gained 1 lb. this week but I am not discourged....I knew what I ate and I enjoyed it!!! Last night was a wine and cheese party for the Cancer Society and boy was it good!!! I even won a raffle prize!!!

Tomorrow and Sunday will be tough...tomorrow I am going to Tastefully Simple home party where you sample many different dips and stuff...and then on Sunday all five daughters (my sisters) and their f.amilies are having a brunch for our mom. We are all making yummy things!!!

My DD and I are going to do a 3 mile walk for a fundraiser so I have to walk before hand to get ready!!!

Hi everyone,

Such wonderful posts for the beginning of this next week,

Congrats to the losers~~ WAY TO GO EVERYONE! GOOD JOB ABBYBETH!!!!

I am a maintainer but that is fine with me. I have really hit a plateau, I believe. I am planning on switching things a little both with exercise and food.

Have a fantastic weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day to all the Moms.

DD is home (Abbybeth) and we plan on hanging out, exercising, and doing some things around the house.

Oy, I tried to edit my other post but it wouldn't go through. LOL!

To address # 5 for this week's challenge:

The people in my life are really supportive but I have had a tendency to do what they do, as far as eating goes, when it comes to sweets. My DH is an unintentional saboteur.

Confession time:

I am stealth dieting! Not even my DH knows. I have lost 9 pounds in the last month or so and no one has noticed. LOL! I have only told 1 friend but she lives out of state!

DH is great but, after 17.5 years of marriage, I finally realized that I need to be the initiator in our relationship...from travel planning, to house repair, etc...!!! DH agrees, fortunately! So, I am going to continue doing what I'm doing and see how long it takes him, or anyone, to notice. I guess my plan is to lead by example. I'm hoping that when he realizes what I'm doing, he'll follow suit. He only needs to lose about 40 but he hasn't taken action, even though he said he would take charge of the food situation 2 years ago. I hate shopping and cooking an d he likes it.

That's why I'm counting calories. I can still eat whatever he brings home. I'm just careful about how much. So, he hasn't seen a change in what I eat.

I'll let you all know when people start to notice and what the reactions are!! I know that once it's out in the open, It will be no biggie. I guess it's easier to start on my own so I don't feel llike others have expectations of me. LOL!
