Biggest Loser 5 Week 1 Let the Fun Begin

Here we go. I checked mapquest and it is exactly 1044 miles from my house to port canaveral. I have 232 days until my cruise. So starting today my goal is to do 4.5 miles a day on my treadmill, and by the day I leave for my cruise I will have walked from My house in Southern NJ to the cruise ship! Doesn't seem so hard when I break it down into 4.5 miles a day. ;) DW has also been inspired by you all and she will be hitting the treadmill along with me. :woohoo:

I love the idea of the treadmill. I have a stepper that measures miles. I'll have to think about that. I'd rather do the treadmill but gotta work with what I've got.

I just PMed Joanne with my starting weight. Since posting the other day that I would commit to this I have been eating better. Now I just need to stick with that and start exercising regularly!

This is just what I needed, and it really helps not only having the support of my Disfriends, but more importantly the support of my Bobaloser friends!
I will be walking during my lunch hour, it's exactly 1 mile to walk around the perimeter of the school I work at. Then it is back to Curves 3 or more days a week. My Curves just added a new computerized set up on the equipment and it adjust the equipment to your needs. I think it made it more evil, but that is what I need right now. My personal challenge is not to cheat this weekend. I tend to do great during the week, then on the weekend when DH is home we go out to eat. So the challenge is to stay home and eat healthy and save some money for my upcoming EBPC cruise! ;)

I was going to send you a PM about this group to see if you were interested in joining since our cruise is only 85 days away but I guess great minds think a like :cool1: . I have been trying to lose weight for this trip since last year and have lost about 48lbs but have really stalled out since spring break. I am hoping this gets me back on track and I can lose even more before the cruise :yay: .

Hi again. I just did my real age test. I am 44.2 years old and my real age came up 39.2. This makes me pretty happy but there are some suggestions that they made (like lose weight) that I can do to improve this number even more.
 
carole88 - I just did my real age and also got 39.2 (calendar age is 43.9). Losing weight, more exercise, and eating less red meat were some of the suggestions. :)

I sent in my starting weight and I even took the quiz!

I am 26 years old and the quiz says my RealAge is 23.1! So I am doing some things right. To become even younger, I need to eat more vegetables and grains, take in more Omega-3s, and start taking a daily vitamin and calcium. I do walk my dog over 3 miles four days out of the week, but I think I am going to start doing some running too.

They also say I shouldn't drive so fast, floss every day, build stronger relationships with friends, and allow time for myself every day.

I am going to make each one of these items a personal challenge for each week. This week, I am going to aim to eat more vegetables, take a multivitamin, and allow 10 minutes to myself every day this week. Jog 2 days this week.

What are you going to do?
 
I PM'd my starting weight just now and I'm headed to take the test. I'm thinking my results won't be great!!

Hello everyone,

I PMd my weight to Joanne and am ready for this challenge to start. I am looking forward to the next 5 weeks.

I will take the real age test later today. I am off of work today due to having to work this weekend and the weather is better today and plan to get out in the yard and rake.

Will post more later ~~~ what a lively group of paticipants ~~~ lets keep the momentum going. :thumbsup2
 
HI All,
I will do my age test later, when Davis takes a nap (if I'm luck). Went for a 4.5 mile walk this AM, did some pilates too.
I used to run and that is my goal, to get light enough to run again.
 
I took the test. I will be 40 in 3 1/2 weeks and the quiz said I am 44.5. :sad2:

Less red meat, more fish, fruits and veggies, and more exercise. All things that I knew, but some big dummy wasn't doing. :rolleyes1
 
I tried to do the age test....but the site kept locking up. Anyone else having a problem?
 
I just got into the realage.....they said my actual age is 49.1 and my "real age" is 48.6......now I have to wait till I rec. the email with suggestions

PMed my weight (was really bad this last week and gained a pound back of the ten I lost so I REALLY need this) Already did one DVD this morning before breakfast. Have to run so will take the test later in the day. I am so in for the new workout challenge. I already have a new set of DVDs so I have 8 new ones to choose from in the week - yay!
Way to go everyone :cheer2: We can do this!

Today is Day 1 so you are right on time. PM (or email) your starting weight to Joannel at some point today and then hunt out my challenge on page one. It technically doesn't start till tomorrow, but everyone is getting a head start. Way to go group! :thumbsup2 I think we are going to do great these next few weeks! :cool1:

You think you were bad....Somehow I gain 2.8 lbs since BL4's tuesday weigh in! :scared1: I AM HOPING IT IS JUST WATER WEIGHT!:mad:
 
Birth age is 51.1...real age is 53.2 That is actually better than I thought it would be. Losing weight, eating my fruits and veggies (which I really don't do) would all help. I feel I am making progress with my exercise and the weight is coming off slowly.
