We are going to my sister's house to watch the game with her family. Her DH is a fantastic cook so I'm a little scared, but I think I'll bring a veggie platter and a BIG salad full of yummy veggies to try to fill up on that stuff and then just have a try of all the delicious foods he'll make!

GO GIANTS!!!!

I haven't posted lately. My parents have been in town. Today is a snow day for the girls so I am catching up on my emails and DISing. I didn't get a chance to PM my weight this week so I will catch up next week but I am down :thumbsup2

How are all the loser doing? :goodvibes

Tha's nothing. He is also a Packer's fan so he was really torn during the last game. :rotfl:

ALso aren't they also still officially NY Giants. NY or already for a parade if they win what about NJ. The only tall building in Moonachie (the town right next to the Meadowlands, where my parents still live) is three stories tall. How can you have a big tickertape parade with only a couple of short buildings.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

DD is also a MAJOR Packers fan, so she was devestated with the Giants' win. But now she's rooting for the Giants. Anyone but the Patriots!!

Yes, they are "officially" the NY Giants, but they play in NJ, so we consider them to be "OURS". I love your comment about the tall buildings in Moonachie!:rotfl2: But I don't think they use tickertape at the parades anymore. Maybe confetti, if anything. However, that "canyon of heroes" is pretty cool, even if the Giants, Yankees, Mets, or whoever are NOT heroes, just winning athletes. The REAL heroes are the guys (and girls) over in Iraq and Afghaistan, and the firefighters, police and EMS workers here at home who put theirselves in harm's way to help others in need.:thumbsup2

OK. getting of my soapbox now...:lmao:

I just got back from the gym. Did the treadmill for a little over 30 minutes. I think this was the last time for a while. I am really feeling the lack of Mobic--very stiff and sore, and this wet weather is not helping. Surgery is Tuesday, and it will be awhile before I can even think about climbing up on a TM or elliptical again. I am hoping to be able to do some walking by the end of the week, even if it's just around the house. I have to see if the gym has a walking track--I could use that safely, even with my arm in a sling.

Well, off to get some work done around here...

Yes we are going to a super bowl party. I will try to be good.....Just have little bite......
Go Giants!!!!!!!

My family is a big Colts fan and one DD a Cowboys fan. So we will be rooting for Giants to win the SuperBowl....hehe Can't have the Patriots win all year now can we?:lmao: Okay so what is everyone going to snack on for the game? We want to hear some good healthy choices for it. I am thinking low fat popcord or wheat thins with laughing cow cheese. Any other ideas all?

:sad2: Hey guys, I have struggled with eating the past 2 days. I guess on the good news front, it is nothing compared to what I did in the past regarding overeating. so that is good, I just know I went over my calories for 2 days, and yesterday was stress eating.

We did turbo tax for our taxes, and something got goofed up - BIG TIME! - in the trasferring of the information and instead of us getting back several thousand dollars as a refund, it showed that we OWED 8,000!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: It shouldn't have been accepted on the other end, because the w2's don't match up, but they did.:scared1: so now we have to wait until we are billed by the governement and then we can do an ammendment. DH was on the phone with someone regarding this, and there is nothing we can do. We are worried that they would pull the money from the checking account, as you have to put that info in for them to automaticly deposit the money. We were so fearful that they would automaticly withdraw the error. Ummm, we don't have an extra 8,000 lying around. so now this is going to be a major pain in the but, major time involved to fix this issue. All I could think of is that STUPID commercial regarding the guy working at the computer having an issue with his taxes and the wife comes up and says "oh, is there a problem, lets ask the box for help" and then I think she hits his head with the box. Well, DH feels terrible about this, and I have been supportive, trying to be positive... "it'll be right in the end, don't worry, it all will work out", I would never give him grief, because I know it was a simple mistake. but it is stressfull when you are talking about that kind of amount of money errror.

If you are still reading, thanks!

Vija, so sorry. That's so frustrating. :headache:

Question of the Day

Are you going to a Super Bowl Party?

That I don't know yet. There has been one invite, but I don't know if there will be other kids there. Otherwise, we'll just watch at home or at my sister's. Since both sisters are also trying to lose, hopefully there will be good choices if we do get together. I may just make wings for my dad here so that I can control the cooking method and ingredients.

Me too! I thought of going to the gym this morning, but I know I have a lot of shoveling to do, so I'll get out there and get going this morning.

I love the way a fresh blanket of snow looks, but it isn't fun to shovel!

Yup. I think those 2 hours that it took me pretty much cover my exercise goals for the day.

Hello! I did not get my weight reported on Tuesday. I've had a rough week. My grandma passed away on Monday morning and my schedule has been all out of whack. I did weigh in and lost 2 pounds. I have since emailed my weight to Brenda and am getting back into the swing of things today. Back in the saddle, as it were.

Mickeefan - I am so sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

Mickeefan - so sorry to hear about your loss. Take care of yourself!

Hi everyone! I'm a Biggest Loser Newbie. I don't mind being the Smallest Loser as long as I'm losing. :)

Welcome!!! Hope you like it here!

I've had a rough week. My grandma passed away on Monday morning and my schedule has been all out of whack.

I am so sorry for you loss. Hold on tight to your cherished memories, and hope they bring you comfort.

Hey guys, I am waiting for 1 person to report in their numbers on the challenge and then I will post them, they may not be posted until late tomorrow night.

Good evening everyone,

There has been a lot going on with everyone.

Mickeefan Hello!

Sorry for your loss, take care of yourself.!

I/we are not going to a super bowel party. DH and I will definitely watch the game and I will be sure to get my regularly scheduled grocery shopping on sunday completed in plenty of time. I really do hope that the patriots win. I will be trying to behave myself with veggies and popcorn handy.
I am really the big sports fan in the family.

Well we missed the major snow snowstorm that was forecast, we may have had 5 inches total. I shoveled for 10 to 20 minutes this morning (light stuff) and then when I got home from work shoveled for about an hour (more heavier and wet snow) That was my exercise for the day.

Have a great weekend all !

So very sorry for your loss. I remember my grandmother so fondly--I still miss her terribly after 26 years.

This is from my WISH blog for today.

Oh my, Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore...:scared1:

OK, so the day started off fine. Had breakfast (Kashi, banana, and cottage cheese--remember that...), hit the gym and did 31 minutes on the treadmill--probably the last time until after surgery, since I'm very stiff and sore without the Mobic for 4 days, did some errands and came home for lunch (a hamburger, couscous and salad--remember that too...), had a lovely massage, and then...it happened.

The results of my food allergy testing arrived. And eating for me will never be the same.

For starters, the results are given a number from 0 to 6. 0 means no allergy or sensitivity. 1 means a slight sensitivity, but no big dea. 2 means sensitive, but only a problem if it's something I eat all the time. 3 is very sensitive. 4 is allergic. 5 is very allergic, and 6 is extremely allergic.

Well, who knew I'd end up with a 6 for egg whites??? Yolks were only a 3, but I have been getting quite fond of my egg white omelets! So eggs are a permanent no-no for me. Not sure yet if I have to eliminate anything with the slightest bit of egg in it, or just not eat eggs.

I highly suspected that milk would be on the lsit, and it was, at a 4. So that's more than a sensitivity. Crap! I was hoping for a temporary elimination. The odd thing is that cheddar cheese and yogurt are only 2s. So maybe I can add them back in eventually?? No mention of goat's milk, so I may get to keep my goat cheese. (of course, I really like that in salads and in OMELETS, which I will NOT be eating!!) I have no idea where to go with dairy free--there really are not acceptable substitutes for me.

At 3, besides egg yolks, we have processed cheese (like American) and BANANAS. Huh? NO ONE is allergic to bananas!!! It's what they give babies as their first food along with rice! OK, banana free is pretty easy, although I will miss my favorite fruit.

The 2s that I eat all the time (and will therefore have to eliminate for a few months) include wheat bran, cheddar cheese, wheat, and yogurt. So not only dairy free, but wheat free too? Eggs, milk and wheat...what else IS there???????

Well, at least I won't have to be totally gluten-free. THAT would be a nightmare!!!

Remember I said to remember what I had for breakfast and lunch? Well, breakfast is a goner--Kashi has wheat, cottage cheese is dairy, and bananas, well, that's gone too. And lunch? Bye bye couscous. And I'll have to read labels for salad dressings. Fortunately, my 3 favorites--the organic honey mustard, my homemade raspberry viniagrette, and my homemade apple cider viniagrette, are all clean. So I won't have to give that up.

So, dinner tonight. Well, I'd been feeling icky and full ever since my snack (yogurt...), and after cooking school I came home and up came my snack, my lunch, and God knows what else. So not a big dinner night. I did eat some mac and cheese (for the last time...), and an apple. Later I will have my beloved cheerios, but I may use yogurt instead of milk. Or not....

So, I've ordered some info about food allergies and eating dairy/egg/wheat free. Like it isn't already hard inough just sticking to a food plan, now I have to do it without many of my regular choices. Milk, cottage cheese, cheese, yogurt, butter, eggs, couscous, bulghur, Kashi, whole wheat wraps, Cheerios (yup, they have wheat bran in them...), and even the healthy canola oil mayo I just got--all gone.

I will have my phone consult with the doctor from Canyon Ranch on Monday morning. Then I will cry. I will speak with the nutritionist on Thursday, and then I will REALLY cry!!!

Well, tomorrow I'm going to Mom and Dad's and I guess I'll be making a slight detour to Whole Foods. Gotta read some labels and see what I can do with this mess.

This is NOT the life I signed up for!!!!!!!

Mickeefan - so sorry for your loss.

Wendy - wow, that does sound tough! I'm not a huge egg eater, but I don't know what I'd do w/out wheat and dairy :scared: You'll make it through this though! You may even find some cool new foods you'll really enjoy! :wizard:

QOTD - DH & I don't do sports, we are more of the computer nerd types :3dglasses So, we will not be watching the Super Bowl. We are going to a "Valentine's" dance on Saturday though. It is a BYOF&D (food & drink) thing w/ a band that normally plays 50's to 70's style music. It is a lot of fun, but the food is usually kind of high calorie. I think DH and I will take a veggie tray, but not sure what else will be there to eat. I am sure that it will be a high calorie evening. I will have to be very careful the rest of the day and on Sunday.

This week has not been too bad for me, but I continue to be slack on my exercise. I have got to get into a better routine and go more often than once a week! I plan to do better next week!

Have a Wonderful weekend everyone!!

Mickeefan-Sorry to hear about your loss. :grouphug:

Princessvija-I can't believe that Turbo Tax didn't catch that mistake!!

QTD: My birthday is Sunday and my parent's anniversary was Tuesday, so we will combine all three together. I figure calories on your birthday don't count, sorta like WDW. I will watch my portions though. I must have chocolate cake.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and

GO PATS!
