Way to go Annette & all the top ten. Keep it up.

If I can get off one lb today I will have hit my 10 for january..... I guess I am good with 9 since I have been sick and missed a few days of exercise.

Hope we have a great February.......

An extra congrats to my Member Cruise buddies Annette, Amanda, Joanne and Mandy (Cobbler). :thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

We can all be out there in our new bikini's!!!!!hahahaha.

GO GIANTS!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
Sorry, but we're a Yankees family, and the Giants too. Boston got the World Series. They can't have the Super Bowl too!!!

Well, in that case.... Go Pats!! ;) Just kidding. I don't think that I really care either way. My Boston loyalties stop at the city and the Sox.

Sounds like a good plan with the nutritionist. I hope you get a response soon and the adjustments help.

Way to Go! To the Top Ten this Week Keep up the good work! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm with the others. I hope something keeps going even after this particular challenge ends. I'm not one who is going to be on the top ten, because I'm a really slow loser. I'm just in this challenge for the motivation of everyone posting thoughts and successes and struggles on this thread. You know, just a "you're not alone" type support.

Congratulations, everyone!! Woohoo! Those are some truly awesome results!

I, unfortunately, did not get to step on a scale Tuesday, yesterday or today, so I wasn't even able to report in this week. I just undertook one of the most challenging cases of my career and have been well and truly swamped since Friday, working as many as 16 hours some days. I have only been to the gym for an hour Friday night and an hour SUnday night, but I really NEED the stress relief that comes on the TM or the elliptical or bike. Looking forward to carving time out for that this week. Oh, and eating has suffered terribly, due to the long hours and the stress. Fortunately, I don't think I am gaining, but I'm sure I'm not losing either. I am hoping the scale will prove to be my friend next week.

:woohoo: Woohooo! I made it into the top 10 superstars!:woohoo: I really didn't know if I could do that! I made that a personal goal and am so excited to have made it in there at least once for this challenge!

Congrats to all the other superstars... those in the top 10 and those that are commited to creating a healthy lifestyle.... ALL OF US!!!!

I too love this BL challenge thread. If we end up closing shop at the same time the show ends, we can still keep going on an "alumni" thread like last time. THere are lots of possibilities to keep going!

but I so need to vent!!! I have been doing Weight Watchers since the 1st of January and although it hasn't been easy it hasn't been too bad. However I decided this week to quit caffeine. I know I need to drink more water that it's better for me and for my weight loss efforts. But I am MISERABLE!! My head has been hurting all day. I have had no energy to speak of and I just want to go to sleep. And I want to EAT!! I don't know why - but I just want to eat and eat and eat. I have not had this much trouble at any point during the last 4 weeks. But this week has just not been nice to me. So - sorry to vent on you guys...but if anybody understood I knew it would be you all!!

Vija-- Congratulations, sweetie!!! :woohoo: I am so happy for you! See, now wasn't all that hard work worthwhile? :thumbsup2

I wanted to respond on this because I am a huge caffeine addict (after 9 years and 11 months of not being able to have it, I went hog wild when I could have it again! ). When did you quit caffeine? Whenever I halt the caffeine (before a race), I find myself kind of lethargic for about 3 days. Unfortunatley, when I am "tired" I tend to eat (I think I was a bear in another life and when I get tired, my body thinks I should be inhaling food in preparation for hibernating for the winter!). It definitely requires willpower to reach for an apple (like today) or something else not so high calorie. Finally, as to the headache? No avoiding it. I always have a headache for a couple days when I go off caffeine. I just use advil or tylenol and wait for it to go away.

Sending you a  and pixiedust: that you'll feel better completely, quickly and soon!

WOW - IMPRESSIVE top 10!!! CONGRATS to all

WDWorBUST- :grouphug: you need APPLAUSE for trying to cut out that caffeine. I, have been decafed before and would like to be again - but I really would miss the jolt - especially in the morning for a kick to get my buns moving. Are you taking anything for the headache? I just think if you are going to take this GREAT step - nothing wrong with getting through the first couple of days with some pain reliever that works for you. I commend you and WISH you the best - you will reap benefits and make sure you post how "healthy" you feel when this stage is over to try to get me to join you!

I lost .5 this week - hoping for more but I will take a loss of any kind! DH at his exercising class and I am really hungry but determined to not snack before dinner (salmon fillet and green beans for us) so I am having a hot cup of tea and may just have one more too!

P V - I just can't imagine -35 wind chill - I will stop my complaining of the "chill" we have had the last couple of days! Yesterday our power was off from midnight until 1 PM (major wind knocked down a huge pine tree) and the house was getting cold! I did go into work a couple of hours late - I needed more than candlelight to get ready by :thumbsup2 But, no power put a damper on my exercising for the day - way too dark to see what I was doing and of course no tm action for me either!

Today I was up and at 'em and I haven't put the candles away yet either - we are predicted icy mix tonight it was a nice effect - but once a winter is enough :flower3:

Keep up the good work and keep making healthy choices!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Congratulations to everyone in the top 10!:cheer2: :cheer2:

And, a double congratulations to my buddy Mel "mansionterror." Now, we've both made the top 10. Congratulations!

Wow! It sounds exciting, yet exhausting. Hopefully you will be well rewarded for your work on this case!!!! Carve out that time for yourself. You will most definitely appreciate it, and it will help you with the stress relief. Good luck on your case!:goodvibes

I have cut out caffeine, and I know how you feel. The first time I did it, it took 3 days of a massive headache and feeling dizzy/woozy. But then you feel better and you don't even notice it. The second time I did it, it seemed to go better, and I have pretty much remained caffeine free. I do drink the caffeine sodas when I go out, but I don't notice a difference. I love my caffeine free diet coke! Once a vendor asked me why I bother drinking that!:rotfl: Then he gave me a free can!:thumbsup2 hang in there, it will get better and your body will appriate it!

Vija-- Congratulations, sweetie!!! :woohoo: I am so happy for you! See, now wasn't all that hard work worthwhile? :thumbsup2

Thanks! It does feel great!:goodvibes

congrats on the .5 pound loss! It is a loss and that is fantastic! I hope you don't loose power again, in winter that is so scary! I am ready for spring! How about you?:flower3:

Thanks for understanding guys. I "started" cutting it out Monday but by mid-day I thought I was dying so I caved and drank 3 cans of Diet Dr. Pepper. Then Tuesday I did better but by late afternoon I gave in and drank a 20 oz bottle. That's the last caffeine I have had. I've been drinking caffeine free the last couple of days trying to "trick" my brain - of course it's not working, but that's okay too. So I've only been officially caffeine free for 48 hours or so. I know it has to get better because this is just miserable. I haven't caved to eating though so I feel a little better that my willpower hasn't failed - yet. Tonight I have shake n bake pork chops in the oven and brocolli boiling. I might throw in another side....I just don't know what right now.....so then again I might not :o)

Oh, honey, I feel your pain!!! When I went off caffiene cold turkey, I though I would die. The headaches were amazing. That was when I realized that caffiene really is a drug, and it is addictive. It took about 3 days, and then I was ok. I will occasionally have something with caffiene now (usually a cup of tea--I don't drink soda), and I'm ok as long as it's only one serving. Any more than that and I get the shakes. For someone who used to literally drink 2 liters of Coke (the regular kind, with sugar!:scared1: ) every DAY, it was a HUGE change. But your energy will return, the headaches will go away, and life will be good again. And then you can pat yourself on the back and feel really good about your success!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

quick PSA -- the next round of challenges will be postponed until mid-week of next week to better suit Princess Vija's work schedule in reporting our points to her. :thanks: to her for computing and figuring and all those math terms that i'm not good at :teeth:

I am feeling pretty good about myself even though I only lost 1 pound last week. I am determined to keep at it and be successful.

I have glanced at sparkpeople and am considering joining. I may need some help with my diet. I am not really hungry at different times, however, when the time does come for "something" I want it to be healthy. I do love fruits and veggies, so that is great, right.

The weather is up and down here in Michigan

Lynn:

I love sparkspeople. It helps keep me on track with my eating and it also give me exercise that i really need to start doing on a regular basis.

Where are you from in Michigan. Theres a couple of us from here. Annette and I are currently freezing in Lansing

Hi Amanda, I am in Port Huron, which is right where Lake Huron ends and becomes the St. Clair River. I was hoping Great Lakes would reply as I do not know where in MI she is.

How about that forecast for tomorrow? HEAVY SNOW WARNING. Exercise tomorrow may be shoveling!

Lynn

Thanks everyone! I just realized that I only lose weight every other week. Is that weird?
I hope everyone in the line of the snowstorms that are going to hit tonight is careful. I am not looking forward to going to work in the am.

Annette :)
