Has anyone ever rented a house bigger then what you really need, I have been looking at the homes in WH, started looking at just the 3bed, then saw the prices of the 4 beds and thought we could get something like that for the same price and have the big pool..Well then I started looking at the 5 beds because what I really wanted was a house with 3 king or qu beds. It's just me, hubby and 2 grown sons. Guess what? I got bored last night and started glancing at the 6 beds....Perfect 3 king rooms, pool spa and some of the houses were cheaper then the 4 beds..So what does everyone think, should I stick with something the size I need or go with something huge...:confused3

I think I would do it, especially if it was cheaper and still in a close neighborhood. We're renting a 7 bdr, but will probably only use 6 bdrms.

We just got a 3bdrm condo at WH, even tough the 2 would have been fine because we found a 3 we liked that was nicer than the 2, just as close to the pool. I'd get the *price* and everything else you want. If the 5 bdrm is the price you want, and not really more than the 3/4, go for it.

definitely go with price too.

just be sure that you have the current price on the house.

Hi, for us the more bathrooms the better...looks like with your crew 3 baths would be perfect especially if the boys had their own rooms...

We found that if each pair of adults had private bath in the master and then at least one other bath for the kids, everyone had a nice private morning to rise and shower without playing musical bathrooms!

Also, lots of the bigger home have a big master on first floor with pool access and then other masters upstairs...again a good separation of kids and parents!!

With the boys, a game room might be a nice draw, especially pool table or foosball if that is what they enjoy...Have fun....Ted

Hi, I have booked a 5 bedroom house at WH for Nov. and at this time I have no idea how many of us are going. It could be 6 or 12. So because I also want alot of room and the pool I went for the 5 bedroom. I figured either way we should be okay. Go for it!

Thanks, I just feel like I might be trying to be greedy, I guess, we would only be using 3 bedrooms, but I kinda want it to be something special, we went in 2000 but stayed at a hotel and also brought one of the boys friend who ended up making the trip horrible. So now the boys are 17 and 20 and this was supposed to be just a cheap little trip to florida to do universal...but after seeing their faces when I have showed them some of these houses...well the mother instinct is kicking in and wanting it to be something totally awesome for them..kinda of mouth dropping..lol. This is just sooo hard picking houses..now I'm starting to get picky in what they look like...sounds like greed is taking over my mind...gotta have bigger and better...They like the techy stuff, plasma tv, game systems, big beds..So still I search for the perfect house. thanks for the input everyone..

hey your boys have learned.

let them bring a friend - then the 5 bedroom would work!

DH and I rented a 3 bedroom condo for just 2 of us. We used both bathrooms (a treat because we only have one at home!), but 2 bedrooms were completely empty. I didn't feel the least bit guilty because I had gotten a great price-cheaper than most offsite hotels!

We usually go with whatever has the right price regardless of the number of bedrooms. DH and I have stayed in 3 br townhouses, a 5 br pool home and in March we had a 4 br. pool home. :thumbsup2

I would say, if the price is OK for you, go with the home that you think would work best for your family.

Don't feel guilty about having only a few people in a home - its your vacation and you should enjoy it!

Go for it. We rented a 4 bebroom villa because we liked the privacy of the pool. We really only needed a 2 br. We really enjoyed mthe stay.

We have rented a 6 bed home for just two of us because we like it's location and it's features.

well the mother instinct is kicking in and wanting it to be something totally awesome for them..kinda of mouth dropping..lol.

If you want your visit to Universal to be totally awesome, stay at an onsite hotel a few nights. Your room key works like an unlimited fast pass and you bypass all the lines. :cloud9: Our boys said they felt like VIPs.
We've stayed at all 3 but love the Hard Rock Hotel the most. Your boys would love it.
They are 4* hotels within a 5-10 min walk to the parks.
We are also previous "home-renters" and enjoyed the big pool and plenty of bedrooms but for us it's worth it to be a little crammed to be able to almost walk right onto the rides. Now that's magical. ;)
For even 1 nt's. hotel stay, you can get front of the line access on the day you check in early am until the park closes on the day you check out. That's 2 full days of fotl for 1 nt. hotel price. Once you try it you'll be hooked!
