We’ve rented the pontoon from the Contemporary, and really enjoyed it.
In a bit less than an hour we could go around the islands in both Seven Seas and Bay Lake (and pass over the water bridge)
Time is billed in minutes (so we didn’t even get billed for a full hour) and they seem to give you a bit extra time for driving in and out of the slip, There’s an AP discount, too.
We have did the little searacers (DDs favorite) and the pontoon. We rented the pontoon at GF and totally enjoyed ourselves, being able to get great pics of MK and then going by River Country (where I had great memories as a kid). We rented it for an hour, and ended up having it for about 70 minutes, but was not charged the extra 10 minutes.
We rented the Pontoon at WL. Even though it was just my wife and myself it was thoroughly enjoyable. We never did this before and were really glad we did.

The wife an I have rented the Boston whaler from the contemporary
It was great but they are slow and underpowered because in fl you need a boat load certificate for anything 10 hp and up. So they are 9.9 horse motors. But if you have no boating background they are good yo can’t get into any trouble with them. They do have security patrol out on the lake that will stop you and keep you away from the big ferry. You get to go around and see the old discovery island from the water and the old water park too
With a smaller party, the pontoon has enough space both covered (with the driver) and open allowing the passengers to choose sun or shade... and I think they are about the same speed.
