Big, Wide, Men's Shoes

I know...yet another shoe question...

My husband has large feet...14 Wide (E usually is best). Anyone know of good places to buy good walking shoes and sandals for hard to fit feet? He's not very picky - and doesn't like to spend tons on his shoes. I'm worried that he'll just grab a cheap pair of shoes from Wally World or Payless and end up with sore piggies. Also - we're in a pretty rural location, so chain stores and on-line sites are most feasible. Any suggestions of brands, styles, and stores?

Hi there Disneyvirg. I have had great luck finding shoes for DH size 14 wide on zaappos dot com and shoebuy dot com. You can seach specifically for wide and sort by price. DH has had very good luck with New Balance tennies. He also really likes his Clarks sandals and wears them to the parks every year. Both on-line sites are quick and often have specials like 20% off. (they also have things like free shipping even on returns) I would check the budget board for coupon codes that you can enter on-line. I have used the codes successfully a number of times. We joke in our house about how we have to shop in the CANOE section of the sporting goods store for DH's shoes. Happy Shopping!!!

Thanks for the suggestion. We just purchased DH a pair of work shoes off zappos. So nice that it's free shipping both ways and no tax! We'll see how he likes these shoes...then I can try dropping hints about getting some good shoes and sandals for WDW. He keeps kidding me that we may not be going to WDW...but unless one of us loses our jobs - we're going!

I love that you kid him about shopping in the canoe section! I'm always tripping over his huge shoes. I call them his hoof-covers. He doesn't think it's as funny as I do. It's really funny to watch our little girls try to stick their feet inside his shoes. They could practically stick their whole legs in those things!
