Question -- I'm making a reservation for BTRBBQ, and I am seeing that it is listed on the disneyland website under character dining. Or maybe I am misreading this? Do characters show up at this?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you -- I didn't think it was a character meal! I must have had the search settings wrong.

Does anyone know if they offer split plates at this meal? For instance, I know my kids aren't going to eat, so can we order one meal for both of them?

I might be wrong but I think BTRBBQ is a family style, all you can eat so I don't think you could do a split plate.

Might not be worth it if your family aren't big eaters. It's all you care to eat.

Can you tell me a little about this? Is it like WDW Hoop-de-do-review? I'm traveling with a 16,25 & 27 yr old- is this to "young" for my crew? Thanks!

Will not eat at all or just won't eat much?

When we went our eldest is a vegetarian and did not care for the vegetarian option so she just brought in outside food from another restaurant at the server's sugestion, and did not have to pay for joining us.

It's not much like the HDDR at WDW. BTMBBQ is primarily a place to eat, which just happens to have some live entertainment. The entertainment is not the focus of the meal and you can pretty easily ignore it if you wanted. There is usually a woman and man team; the man plays the piano and the woman sings. They do a couple of country sounding songs and usually encourage the kids to join them in something. The other performer is a man with a guitar who walks around the dining area singing. That's about it.

In terms of ages, I don't think BTMBBQ really has any kind of age focus. You can pretty easily choose to listen to or ignore the entertainment. It's not like the HDDR where the entertainment is the main reason to go.

A question I have about BTRBBQ.... Is the price per person or per family? I know it's like $23.99 for lunch... Is that $23.99 per person or per family. Just wondering because it's a "all you care to eat"....

I'm just thinking if it's $23.99 per person and you don't ask for seconds... For 2 people, $48 bucks is a lot to spend...

That's a per person price. $23.99 per person adult price for lunch. $26.99 per person adult price for dinner.

It IS allot of food. We had a DL DIS Meet with 3 couples and we all loved the food and the CM's will just keep bringing it and bringing it for as long as you want. AND there is no hurry to eat and leave.

Me, personally, find it would be costly to take a child here if they have small appetites BUT then again it IS packed with kiddos all of the time.

The FOOD IS DELISH!!!! :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed this.It is cheaper for lunch.Real nice and shady and peaceful. The food is pretty good.Look its barbeque but not like slow smoked Texas style more like baked and sauced. The desert here--you have to try the big cookie thing it is sooooooo awesome.Huge platter size cookie with three large scoops of ice cream. They bake it when you order it.Seriously that cookie was a real memory.I liked the entertainment they played mostly disney toons. It was a guitarist if I remember and one or two singers.

It's an all you care to eat family style meal so everyone at the table is charged. Adult price is $23.99 (lunch) and $26.99 (dinner), kid's price is $11.99 so unfortunately you will not be able to have your kid's share a single meal.

I agree, that dessert really is so good and huge. Just as a FYI, however, desserts are not included in the meal price so any of the delicious desserts are an additional charge.

I don't see drinks listed on the menu on the DL website, are drinks included in the price?

Yes they are and they are refilled as often as wanted and or needed.

This has become one of our favorites. Just had dinner there last Sunday.

It is all you care to eat and they will bring you refills of all food as many times as you like.

Desserts are great but the meal is so big it may be wise to stop in on another visit to order just desserts. And yes you can just order desserts there.

It is in no way a character meal and my party only has adults in it and we never have felt it juvenile in any way.

The entertainment was not there last Sunday, and I was happy about it. While you can ignore it, I find it annoying as the performers just seem to be forced as opposed to being a natural fit.

There is no plate sharing but if you have a member of your group that does not want to eat they will not be charged or they can bring food in from another restaurant to eat with no problem. Now if people (people in general not anyone on this thread) start to abuse this I'm sure they will just charge by head and this accommodation will go away. They used to offer to go boxes for the leftovers but they had to stop doing this because of abuse.

No split plates at the BBQ, it's all you can eat so everyone pays full price.

We asked if our girls could do that and we were told no. They had to eat by themselves at the Golden Horseshoe and then meet us for dessert after we finished eating. :/ I'm glad they've changed that now but it was a bummer for us because it was a family dinner with our extended family (we had 11 in our party). But they did let them walk in and meet us for dessert so that was really nice. :)

Prices are per person, it is a lot unless you plan to eat a lot. We usually go for lunch and we can eat a lot. lol So for us it is worth it. We have been able to eat 3 or 4 bowls of coleslaw (my favorite ever, I love it so much I make it at home) and 3 buckets of meat without issue. lol We enjoy the bread but it served cold so we don't eat as much and we do enjoy the beans but we prefer the slaw so we eat more of that as well. :)

My question is whether they have the individual birthday cakes available there?

I wouldn't even bother to ask honestly, the pizooki is so amazing, and we had the seasonal cobbler as well, both were amazing and so much better than the individual birthday cakes are. lol We went for a birthday and we just shared those 2 desserts (between the 11 of us) and the birthday girl was thrilled. :)

they are now yes, free refills, drink as much as you like. I've also poured leftover drinks into my empty water bottle, I like to get an Arnold Palmer there so I like to carry it around and drink it. lol The server actually helped me fill my bottle.

that's a bummer, we like the entertainment. We find it funny and a good fit for the meal. Just singing and music but we enjoy it.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether this meal is offered gluten free??

I'm sorry, I don't know for sure as we don't have anyone GF in our immediate family. I'm sure the dining line can help with this question.
