Hi everyone,

My family and I are heading to Disneyland at the end of the year

We have been three times before and each time I totally forget about those cool Disney dining experiences. So, this year, we are character dining, going to BB and, for my hubby, going to the BTRBBQ (hopefully I will get dining reservations...)

Anyway, we have heard that you have to share tables at BTRBBQ and that food is served family style. Does this mean that we have to share serving platters with others?

Thanks
AussieCaribou

You might have to share your table (but it's really long benches, it's really not that noticeable). But each group gets their own platters with food.

Person above answered the question, but lemme just add... I asked a similar question recently and a lot of people said that they will actually ask if you are okay with sharing a table... And you can say "no" even if you're a party of 2 or even 1. But I'm sure that if it's really busy they'll "force" you to share a table... which is why I'm wanting to go when it's slow, during lunch.

Yep. I was asked if our group wanted to share tables and we opted out.

We're a group of 2 and were asked if we would be ok sharing. We said yes and were put with a group of 3. They are picnic tables so there was plenty of room for us on one end, them on the other end and space in between. Your food is yours and not shared with the other group.

I guess I was there when it was slow, because there was plenty of tables and was never asked to share. That said, if someone were asked to share with us, I'd be more than happy to accommodate. After all, that family must love Disney as much as I do, so I'll be able to talk to them until the park closes. I'd say don't worry about it, unless the family starts eating off your plate :)

We have never been put with another group, or even asked to share. We choose to go around 4:00pm, before the Dinner rush begins.

If it was really busy, we wouldn't mind sharing a table with another group, but the times we have gone, have been really nice, and about half of the tables were empty!:thumbsup2

We just went at the beginning of Aug, they asked if we wanted to share, we said no thank you and we sat alone, a party of 4

Thanks everyone. This helps a lot. We won't mind sharing a table (actually the idea is kind of nice...we might meet some nice Americans or something). It was just the concern about the food. ;)

We are going at the end of September and I just booked our table online. We had several times to choose from when I made our reservation so you guys should be fine. If you are looking for a certain time though I would say book 60 days before your trip as that's the earliest you can make reservations. Have fun & go hungry! The food is amazing.

We (two, my partner and I) went at 4pm last Monday and were ok with sharing, even though the restaurant was perhaps only 1/3 full. But they seated us at a table in strong sun. We asked to be reseated, and when they did so, they then brought over the other party (four people--two parents and two young kids) and reseated them with us. I thought it was odd to make the other group move instead of breaking us up. So I suspect they go out of their way to make you share a table unless you specifically say that you don't want to.

We should have--we don't like sharing a table with young children, because the other party tends to assume you will tend to them/think they're cute/be ok if they act out. AFAIC, if you share a table with another party, your kids are your own responsibility. (We had a nightmare experience at Epcot last year where we were seated with a family that proceeded to seat their child--ride-soiled pants and all--on the tabletop next to our place setting while we were ordering. We eventually go up and left.)

Only been to Big Thunder twice but talking about this is making me want to go again. Both times were seated by ourselves. Though originally the second time we were going to be seated with another party (have no problem sharing).

The issue was I had recently gotten a bad sunburn on my arms because I had missed putting sunscreen on part of my arms. So I was trying to avoid being in the sun as much as possible (I had long sleeves on but I could still feel the sun through the sleeves). So when they put us at a table where only half of it was in the shade and the other party snatched the shady part before we could we had to request to move. Ended up at a table on our own.

I'm confused:confused3. When we went to BTRBBQ with a party of 5, our table would not of held more than 6 six people. We were right in front of the stage, and all the tables around us also would not have seated more than six. Where are the tables for larger parties?

When we've eaten there, they have pushed two or three tables together, in certain spots, to make room for larger groups.:)

I think they're all six-seaters.

We sat at two picnic tables pushed together. Our party of 4 only used the one table, so I guess they could fit another party of 4 or smaller at the other end

I'm laughing at this because last time we went my dd was a week shy of one. They asked if we wanted to share. I said we didn't care but our dd was in a throwing food stage and you might want I ask the other people!
