How scary is this ride? My 6 year old is starting to love roller coasters but her somewhat older parents are not thrill seekers.

It is great fun. Maybe a little rough, but our son rode it when he was four years old. He can't wait to ride it again.

My DS6 will try BTMRR this trip after going on the Barnstormer. (For some reason he WANTS to ride the Barnstormer in Toon Town & Primeval Whirl in AK, but did not include BTMRR in his wish list of rides.) I've read that if you can ride Barnstormer you can ride BTMRR, just remember that the closer you get to the ride the louder it is! Most kids don't like the noise.

Just a heads up, the BTMRR rehab is still going on. Hopefully it will reopen on Sunday, Nov 30 (no guarantee, they're still finishing with painting and rockwork).

It's definitely a "starter" coaster. The only restraint is a lap bar, unless they have changed that with the big rehab, but I doubt they will since the lap bar is quite adequate. There are no big drops. Lots of speed and great scenery. I'd call it thrilling but not scary to ride, for wimps like me. ::MickeyMo

Steve- When did the rehab date get extended?

Love it. My 4 year old made us go on it at least 20 times (no joke!) It is really mild. You all will love it.

Jeankeri,
We were there Sat expecting to ride. The CM that were there, turning people around, told us it would be open later this week so it should be open by the time you go. Have a magical trip! Kim:teeth: :teeth:

It is amazing that they couldn't get the BTMRR open for the Thanksgiving crowds and delayed it until the 30th. I just read it on "Mouseplanet" today.

When I was 6 this was the first roller coaster I ever rode with my mother and sister. I was very nervous about it but once I got on it I thought it was GREAT! Been going on 'em ever since! :)

Thanks all for your input. Sounds like even a "fraidy cat" like me may be able to handle this.

Good news for those of you heading down to WDW.

I have it from reliable sources that BTMRR could be up and running as early as tomorrow --- just keep checking while you're down there.
