Big Thunder Mountain Refurbishment

its not a major refurb, they are adding things that were installed at DL and there are fewer people aug-nov. over all than april- july. July is the peak month during the season and BTMRR is a major attraction at MK. Lots more disatisfied guests.

If they are adding things then it is a significant refurb. A basic one wouldn't add anything new, just a coat of paint and fix a few broken things.

they are adding the explosive ending that DL has and probably freshening things up. I hadn't heard of anything else major being done. so to me that's not a major thing. To me Major refurbs would be replacing track or new anamatronics or new cars stuff like that not adding soemthing to the end of the ride

I would classify this as more of a major refurb not just paint and freshen up.

She said it's been off the list since the 28th. So yeah.....who knows?!

If it was I don't think all of the Disney sites would have it on their return list. They get the info from the TA info.

I too don't like refurbs during my trip but also admit they have to happen somehow (especially if in the end it will make the ride more enjoyable). Problems with going in September, like I like to do, is refurbs (though I do believe they are less than the Jan-Feb time period..correct me if I'm wrong). The downside is if they refurb a ride during your present trip and then close it down by the time you make it back again...I am not saying this will happen with BTMR just as a general comment.

We're going in November and are bummed - DS 9 especially. I try to focus on the other positives - like Soarin' will be updated, ROL and other AK nighttime events will be going on, etc.

Ugh. Please no. We go the first week of October, and it's the one ride my kids are positively looking for to being their first roller coaster (they love trains).

Yeah, we just booked an August trip, and this is the one ride we keep missing. So looks like we have to go back in 2017 to ride this one. Darn Disney and their marketing! :)

Are there previous cases where they have finish early or have soft openings of refurbs? -:confused::confused:

Know I'm probably clutching at straws here but this is one of my all time favorite rides and I'm there till the 16th Nov so hoping against hope that they finish up early or have a couple of trial runs :confused3

There are cases of that but it's very rare. I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

Is there still going to be a small world refurbishment in August? I don't see it listed on the Disney website
