My 60 days for FP+ started the other day. I was going to pick BTMR as one of my choices but I had read on multiple places (WDW info, Disboards, and allears) that it was undergoing refurbishments from April-July. I called Disney today, as I noticed that BTMR was an option to choose for FP+. A CM with Disney confirmed that it was originally going to be done April-July but they have postponed refurbishment until August. Just thought you all may want to know! Also, there is no announcement of this on the Disney site and it doesn't look like any of the Disney info sites have this updated info yet either.

Yes this info has been updated on wdwinfo.com and in the major construction completion dates thread above.

can;t have one of your etickets closed during peak season

That original timing was surprising. We wondered how much having that ride closed would affect the wait times at the other rides. Glad to see it has been pushed back past the peak season.

Very happy to hear this! My daughter finally wants to ride it. She was too scared our last trip.

Ugh. Please no. We go the first week of October, and it's the one ride my kids are positively looking for to being their first roller coaster (they love trains).

I am glad they have pushed this back we are due to be there June 4-13 and my family was sad it would be closed.

August - November rehab is what I'm hearing. My kids are going to be crushed.

Doesn't matter when it's closed some families are going to be disappointed. Disney can't win on that score.

We should be glad they're doing refurbs, because their track record has been spotty on that.

Honestly there probably ought to be one big ride closed for work at any time.

Never said I wasn't glad they're doing the refurb, but when the kids have waited two years to ride since they saw it, and you check the calendar before planning the next trip, and think you're golden........ouch.

What a bummer! This is one of my favorite rides at the MK and it will closed during my October visit. Didn't BTMR just have a major overall?

While I'm bummed that we'll probably miss it in November (we're there mid-November, so maybe it will be up and running by then) this timeline makes more sense than having it closed over the summer.

Growing up in Southern California we would regularly make the hour drive up to Disneyland and I remember always walking in and reading the sign about what would be closed for the day, hoping it wouldn't be a favorite and often times it was. Perhaps there was a list somewhere but there was no internet so we would have never known. This experience growing up has led me to be totally okay with rehabs when I go to Disney. While I hope to ride my favorites, I know there is always a chance one will be closed. Just means I'll need to book another trip. Last trip the railroad was closed and I also didn't get to eat at LTT, so next trip I am looking forward to both of those.

its not a major refurb, they are adding things that were installed at DL and there are fewer people aug-nov. over all than april- july. July is the peak month during the season and BTMRR is a major attraction at MK. Lots more disatisfied guests.
