My trip dates are just starting to show up on the November calendar, and I noticed it has Big Thunder Mountain Railroad listed as closed. I haven't seen that on any closure listings. Does any know anything about it and how long it might be closed? It is one of my kids' all time favorite rides. Thanks!

I'm wondering about this, too....after an EXTENSIVE refurb where it was down for a year or more, I'm surprised to see it listed...I'm hoping someone can shed some light, and that maybe it's just a quick once-over maintenance or something.

Schedules are only updated through Nov 17th, but it looks like it's closed starting on the 16th.

Booo....we will miss this by a couple days but still .... hopefully it's just a quick day and back up.
We get there the afternoon of the 14th, so we'll have to make sure to ride it a few times quickly on the weekend. I hope it'll be back up after a couple days, but I'm betting it'll be down the rest of our trip.

It will be down to start work on Star Wars Land and may be out of service for quite some time. :(

I'm not sure why it will be down- we will thankfully be there Saturday and Sunday right before they close it, so I'll finally be able to ride it (the first two times we went it was also closed for a big refurbishment!). Hopefully it's not down for very long! And if they decide to close down anything else while we're there I'll be disappointed, since this will be our last trip for a long time.

Even then, there's been no mention whatsoever of BTMRR being affected by the Star Wars Land construction...
And BTBBQ is still open until January, so it doesn't make sense that BTMRR would close. I'm thinking it's just a short closure . . . I hope!

The ride has been open well over a year now after the major refurb. It could be time for some routine maintenance. Hopefully it will not be down too long...

My hope is that it's just a few days of routine maintenance before the holiday season really kicks into high gear. November 16 is when Star Wars offerings begin so that probably frees up some maintenance crews to work on other stuff.

It's the rule. Something has to be down for your visit! Strict Disney policy.

Big Thunder was down for a year in 2013. It's been at least 18 months since then, so it probably needs some routine maintenance. I know when we rode it back in June, 2 out of 3 times, the smoke did pour out during the mine explosion scene. That needs to be fixed up, among other things.

I'm really hoping it's a short one too! The timing is understandable since SM will be down for it's overlay leading up to this and it's better to not have 2 headliners down at the same time. BTMRR is my absolute favorite though so I hope it's back up by 11/21.

We had consistent explosions two weeks ago...I rode it at least 5 times a day too.
