Big Thunder Mountain possible return?

just talked with rehab construction workers over at Big Thunder they said attraction should be back in a couple of weeks and for sure before October.

That's very confusing given the calendar shows it being closed through at least October 20th.

That would be great for our trip in October. But let's just lay this out. Is there anyone at Disneyland who has any clue about anything going on there? Refurbs - Genie+ - Dining Reservations - all complete disasters right now. If I were managing things, yeah, this is how it would be. But I expect Disney to be on top of things.

Just relaying what was said to me. Of course the group I was speaking to could have meant the work they are doing, but I did say "when do they expect the ride to be back".
They said they were originally supposed to start last week and be done next week.
I said "so before October", he said "yes for sure"

Oh man do I ever hope this is true!!! We are there 9/27-10/2. It’s my fave ride!! Crossing my finger and toes for this but will not be surprised if things are delayed or if the construction worker was just slightly confused on the timeline. Doesn’t hurt to hope though!!

Fresh Baked recently mentioned that the new rumor was that Big Thunder will reopen on November 4th.

I imagine that after the maintenance work they'll have to run safety checks/risk management and have inspection sign off before opening to the public.

It looks like Big Thunder will reopen November 5–it dropped off the list of refurbs on the calendar.

I was hoping for October. We’re going to miss the reopening by about two weeks. Oh well. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll open earlier.

A lot of the work was in the queue, and specifically in the staircase that leads up to the loading platform. Seems like a lot of wood work had to be done. So, yeah, I would imagine extensive safety checks will have to occur.

One of the YouTubers had a video of them testing the ride vehicle on the track yesterday. I hope it opens earlier than expected, but I haven't heard anything earlier than November 4th in the rumor mill.
