What Disney Dreams said is right, we have always had two seperate rope configurations for RDCT.
On light nights, we use a configuration which allows the sidewalk in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle to be used as a viewing area; and which sends traffic crossing the Central Plaza through the southern part over by the Refreshment Corner restaurant.
On nights with heavier attendance, we use a configuration in which all Main Street seating is restricted to the street itself. In this configuration, the sidewalk encircling the Central Plaza is turned into a roundabout that allows guests to cross over to the other side of Disneyland Park by walking around it. This pattern isn't used as often since it requires more labour to operate. However, it does allow for us to accomodate a larger number of guests while maintaining the access needed for safety purposes.




In January 2008 we were able to congregate in the hub/central plaza thing and I got great fireworks shots. This past Jan '09 they roped it off and used it as a walkway so I was forced to sit on Main Street. It was
