when they opened pirates early, they were occasionally letting a few people in the week before it was opened for the entire day. I'm thinking it might be similar but it also didn't sound like as large of a refurb as pirates had where they might have needed to dial in all the new animatronics and scenes that changed

It was basically luck of being there when they let people in for pirates. you'll know if the construction walls are down and then guage if it's worth your time to linger nearby..

I just want to mention, don't expect anything to open early. They just extended the treehouse refurb (reopened earlier this week) and the dinosaur refurb. I don't think this one will be extended but it probably won't open early.

Well yes I know, but still believe anything is possible.....once I noted a HM refurb opened two weeks EARLY a year or so ago....my hope of a week early seemed to have a higher probability than prior. Probably not but just maybe....... When you wish upon a coaster.......

Everything says that it will be open Nov 19 but 60 +5 days out there were no FP+ available. Nov 18 says they aren't offered but Nov 19 says unavailable. Was I just too late or were they not given out? Nov 19 is our last day and BTMRR is my boys favorite ride.

I didn't personally look, I plan to jump in when I see people posting that it's soft opened. If it happens to be fully opened for you make sure you check the same day fastpasses a lot, I almost always got a same day fastpass before the refurb started.

any updates today? WOndering if scaffolding is down or any walls for exit.....leaving tomorrow.....hoping for a soft opening by Friday....Sigh....will behold its new paint job anyhow....and dream of future fun if not able to enter within....

I did close my eyes the whole way through once..... and for someone that gets a little motion sick..... will not be doing that again!

...if you don't mind the feeling of thousands of small bullets hitting you in the face...kind of like getting sandblasted.

The rain? I did EE once in the rain and never again, it wasn't enjoyable to drive fast with the roof off into rain drops.

We did BTM last year & it started down pouring right as we took off. It was hilarious & a lot of fun.

Not sandblasted - more like exfoliated. Spas charge a fortune for that.

We were just at Magic Kingdom yesterday and there was still a big brown plywood wall up keeping people away from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The scaffolding was still up as of a week ago today (Sunday Nov 6th). I could see it taking the railroad around the park. I didn't get to ride the railroad around yesterday (Nov 12th) since it was such a long wait each time we tried. I hope those with plans to visit BTMRR will be able to ride it later this week. We had no such luck but I did ride the Rockin' Rollercoaster which just reopened last week. The Aerosmith video was not playing - we just walked through the room where they hold you and used to tell you that you are going on a limo ride. The music changed and there were other rock band signs - not just Aerosmith. The music was different and sounded like a classic rock band song but I didn't recognize it. I miss the Aerosmith music. It definitely was NOT Mickey mouse themed though which was rumored somewhere.

We left this past Friday and I noticed most of the scaffolding was down.....people in odd spots touching up things....looks like its almost done! Got to ride 7 dwarves 4 times to help ease the pain....I loved it but not the detailed theming of BTMRR.

Just posted on TP&S - I'm in line for HM and they are running empty trains! I'm hoping that's a good sign!!!
