Big Thumbs Up for Pop Century!!!

Just returned from first stay @ Pop. Room 6272 -- corner room in the 70's. Noise wasn't too bad, fairly close to pool and food court. Bus service was awesome!!! Only bad experience was check-in. Long lines and hardly anyone working. Decided to upgrade base MYW tickets to annual pass @ Downtown Disney guest services. They told me they had to keep our room key that was linked to passes...so we got to wait in the check-in line again (only to find out GS shouldn't have taken the room key!). Overall a wonderful experience and we would stay again.

So glad to hear you liked Pop Century. My DD 8 and I are staying there for our first time in 3 weeks, we stayed at AS Movies the year before and really liked it.

Also wanted to mention that we ordered two cases of bottled water, french vanilla coffee creamer, and some pretzels from Staples.com (signed up for their rewards program which includes free shipping). All items were there when we checked in. It was really nice having lots of water to take in the parks and a decent cup of coffee!

That is a cool idea!!!!!!

I just got back from Pop also. Had a great weekend there. Was in Room 1267. King Room, non smoking, courtyard view overlooking Bowling Pin Pool.

I think it was a standard King room, but very easily could be made into an accessible room. The two peepholes were already in the door, there was one grab bar on the tub, the visual fire alarm was already there. All they would need to add is grab bars around the toilet and install the lower clothes rack in the closet area.

Another neat thing I noticed about Pop Century. The coke machines take credit cards!!!! It was pretty cool not to have to fool with cash when I wanted a soda at 2 in the morning!!

I'm glad you had a good time! I have stayed at POP twice before, in April of '04 and April of '05. I loved it also! We are planning on going again in January and May. Glad you had fun!

We will be at POP in 17 more days. I can not wait. I am hoping to be in the 80's building.

Any of you that have annual passes and don't have the Disney Dining Experience card should get one. You get 20% off your entire bill at the food court @ Pop. The discount didn't apply to the purchase of refillable mugs...which was okay as we still saved a ton of money on coffee and soft drinks.

We are headed back to POP in 20 days! Las time it was DD and I... This time it is DD, DH, Me, My mom, Dad and brother!!! I can't wait!!! We loved POP the first time!

We stayed at POP in Jan '05 and LOVED IT!
The ONLY draw back I could see was that when we were leaving the parks, POP was ALWAYS the last bus stop, so we had to walk slightly more than others.
It was clean, quiet, had a great pool, food court, game room....it was great

We also returned from a trip a couple of weeks ago at POP. I would recommend and also are planning for two more trips in 2006. We stayed in the 50's section, first floor, room 1176. Wonderful location. Unfortunately, the water in the pool could have been a little warmer.

Overall, a wonderful stay and cannot wait to go back!

I, too, am glad to hear all the good reviews. I was hoping this would be a nice change from AS (which we like) for the future. Chose CSR for next trip, but will certainly stay @POP in the future. Thanks!
