May be stopping there in a couple of months on way to New Mexico - has anyone ever been there?

I ate there a few years ago, but I did not try the giant steak. :)
It is fun to try once just for the atmosphere. The food was fine, but there is a Mexican restaurant that I really like there, but I can't think of the name right now.

If you are traveling I 40, don't forget to bring a can of spray paint for the Cadilac Ranch.

Yes, we were there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Definitely did NOT try the giant steak though. :)

Such a fun place. We didn't try the giant steak, but someone did while we were there. They didn't finish though.

Have fun!

Is that the one with all the bilboards and it's right on the freeway?
Never ate there but always thought about stopping there when driving through. We always ended up at Cracker Barrel though.
The steak place looked fun.

We've been there! We got picked up in a Cadillac with longhorns on the front from the KOA where we had stopped for the night in our RV. We were on a cross-country trip from Toronto to DL. It was so much fun! A real hoot. My kids enjoyed the soda in the cowboy boots (plastic mug). Very kitschy.

Lots of fun. Great steak for a little price (lunch menu anyway).

I worked at Big Texan when there was one in Lubbock. But, that one didn't last very long.

Be sure and read the history of those who've finished the steak meal. One was eaten in 27 seconds even! Oldest, youngest. And some have even had two steaks in one hour.

Right, and while some of them were eaten by very large people, some of the people were little bitty (can't even imagine how their stomachs held it).

I need to see what there is to do in Amarillo. I might be odd but I like west Texas. I never made it that far though.

We enjoyed visiting Palo Duro Canyon. We were in Amarillo on a storm chase so we weren't there long (got to see just a few sites due to no severe weather).

Never been, but going and taking on the steak challenge is one of the few things on my bucket list! Report back if you decide to go!

I went when I was 13 and on a cross country road trip with my parents. It was a really fun place. Definitely worth stopping.

Palo Duro looks amazing. Some of my friends go there yearly :)

I understand it to be hotter than the surface of the sun in Summer though.
