I've been to Disney tons of time, but never been to the Boardwalk area before. I'm just now reading about Big River Grille and the menu looks pretty decent. Do they take the dining plan there? Also, do they have a bar for seating or is it all tables? Asking as I'm going solo this time around.

They do have a bar that you can sit at and order dinner. And when you are looking for a single seat, it tends to be a lot easier to find one.

The bar is nice, with the brewing kettles behind it. We have eaten there many times with only one complaint -- it's pretty noisy.

I was going to say the same thing...if weather permits, it's worth it to wait for an outside table.

It is a cool spot on the Boardwalk to me as a craft beer guy. However, as others have stated previously it can be a bit noisey when it's busy. Especially in the bar area.

Their food (to me) i about as a good or maybe a little better than most normal chain restaurants. ie Chill's, Fridays, etc. They are a chain them selves.

The beer is actually pretty good too. Their Rocket Red is one of their better offerings and has won quite a few medals at beer competitions. Also, their Sweet Magnolia is another of my favourites here.

Only go to BRG if you like beer. Otherwise, the food is just OK. Not bad, but nothing great. If you do go, stop by the bakery for a dessert, they have some great, fresh stuff. We love the Boardwalk area!

It's the same company as Gordon Biersch, and you can use their loyalty program and gift cards interchangeably.

(Big River Grille, like the rest of the GB chain, has increased the rotation of unique seasonal brews, which as a beer fan, makes me very happy!)

We ate there once before MNSSHP in 2014. We were staying at the Yacht Club, so it was a nice little walk to/from. We sat at an outdoor table, and the weather was absolutely perfect. We got the beer flights, which were pretty good. We're craft beer "snobs", so while they weren't the best beers we've ever had, they were still quite good. Food and service were great!

I stayed at BWI in January 2014 and went for dinner one night. We didn't have a reservation. We went early-ish (5 I think) and were seated promptly. I liked the food and beer. DH is a craft beer snob and got the flight - he enjoyed it. It wasn't like "OMG BEST PLACE EVER!!!!" but it was quite good and I'd happily go back.

Its not an OMG place but the beer appeals to a lot of people and we liked the food. I had the chicken alfredo type dish and my husband had some huge nachos. Both were good

Is there a reason only Tuesdays show up on Open Table? Will more open up? I need 10/13,for lunch.

I sat at the bar for a Cold one in the middle of the afternoon one day as the wife napped at BWI. While I was sitting there i had a great conversation with the bartender and we talked ribs. Here in Illinois we get St. Louis or KC style baby backs most of the time. He said I would like theirs. I think they are the same Rocket Red name that the pp mentioned beer earlier. When I ordered a second beer, he came back with two little end pieces of Ribs on a small plate and told me to try them. I used to work with a chef and he told me to never order ribs before 6 pm because they need to slow cook all day to fall off the bone. The sampler ribs were really good, but not too tender. After I ate them and ordered another beer, the chef must have arrived and he actually came out and said hi. He actually asked me how I liked them, and I said I loved the taste. His next words. "Well, they would be twice as good in three more hours! " I told him I knew what he meant.

Otherwise, the food is just OK. Not bad, but nothing great.

This. Go if beer's your thing and you want something not normally on the Disney list. Otherwise, I'd say go to Crew's Cup at the Yacht Club instead.

When we went, we walked up at 5 PM. There wasn't hardly anyone there. We got seated immediately. I wouldn't worry too much if you don't have a reservation.
