I'm in the process of planning our dinners for an upcoming trip, and there's one night that I'm not sure where we'll be (most likely Hollywood Studios). Can anyone tell me about Big River Grille? DH loves a good beer and it seems like being on the Boardwalk would be fun. I'm also open to other suggestions in the area that don't require an ADR. Thank you!

We go to Big River on just about every trip (although usually for lunch, not dinner). Food is typical bar food - nothing too fancy, but it's tasty and filling. The beers are also quite good. It's nice to get a table outside and watch the people and boats go by. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

I went to the Big River Grille for the first (and last) time last year and I can honestly say it was one of the worst meals I have ever had at Disney. The restaurant wasn't overly packed but we waited ages to be served and for our starters to arrive. Then when they finally did arrive they bought out our steaks literally 5 minutes later, which we had to send back to the kitchen because we clearly weren't ready for them yet, and when they did bring them back out for us they were freezing cold so they'd obviously just been left on the side. It was some the worst service we had ever received and I personally wouldn't recommend it.

And Since Beer, was Mentioned, for a few more steps ( ok about 1,000 more ) You can enter through I.G. & get 1 or 4 cold ones at either UK, or Canada..LoL :drinking1Ok honestly, I kinda liked our experience there...It was one of those, hmmm last minute type , whatdya feel like havin moments... So me n the fam. decided to try it out.... It was about 2/3 filled, and it also looked like they had some kinda bridal party thing going on..Nuttin major... We were seated in the pub style tables in the bar area , literally in 2 minutes. My son got ribs ( I think ) my DD got a strip, & me n my DW got burgers. Hers no bun (Gluten )

And we all were very satisfied with the taste, service, and overall experience....I think I'm going to head down there again this summer...If not for anything but some Beer.. MicroBrew...Yumm

We typically just order bar type appetizers and find it much nicer sitting outside on the patio because it can get a little noisy indoors...nice beer selection

We've been there twice and will keep going back! Wonderful meals and my BF and DSonIL love the beers!

I thought the food was less than mediocre at Big River Grilling Company but the beer was good. We've tried eating there a few times and thought the same each time. So we've decided that we may sometimes go in the afternoon and have a beer but we won't order lunch or dinner there again.

I found the food as ESPN Zone to be several grades lower than that at Big River and the beer to be ordinary. Nothing I couldn't get elsewhere.

The wife and I had a pretty good meal there. It wasn't anything fancy or special, but it hit the spot. We ended up canceling an dinner ADR one night (we were still stuffed from Dining with an Imagineer for lunch at HBD). Since we were staying on the Boardwalk, we decided when we got hungry to get a bite. We had our choice of sitting right away or waiting almost an hour for a table outside at 9PM (it was a very comfortable night). We decided to just sit inside. We both had beer flights and burgers. Like I said, it was nothing fancy or special, but it hit the spot perfectly.

ESPN Club is in the same vicinity and also doesn't require an ADR. You can get into many of the restaurants at Swan & Dolphin without reservations as well.

Can't speak to Big River Grille, but it is a microbrewery so I don't believe you'd find any brand names here if that's a concern.

Last trip DH and I walked over from Epcot to get the beer sampler one evening and we returned another day with the kids for lunch. The food was nothing spectacular, but I thought it was similarly priced to a CS so we were pleased with the quality.

This trip we are staying in the Epcot resort area, so we will certainly stop there again.

We enjoy small local breweries at home, so it's nice to have an option that's not Bud Light.

We had a dinner there one night, DH had the burger and I had the chicken quesadilla as a meal. We both liked them and enjoyed sitting outside kicking back having a beer and watching the people on the boardwalk. My DH thought the beer was ok. It wasn't expensive and we'd do it again.

I was there in October and I wasn't that impressed with the food nor the beer. I would honestly just head to EC and get some beers around the world. Food wise there are so many options at each country you are bound to find something you like.

Also, if you want to stay in DHS I would recommend 50's Prime Time. It features a full bar and really good food.
