If you have eaten at BRG what did you think? I just looked over the menu and the New York and Halibut Oscars sound wonderful, but I don't recall reading much about this restaurant.

What is the atmosphere like? Service? Food Quality?

Please share! Thanks!

We really enjoy Big River. We enjoy their beers and really like to sit outside on the boardwalk. The food has always been good and for Disney I feel that it is one of the better values. I would recommend it. Lynn

I think it's an 'eh' spot. We ate there in a bind and it was fine but we wouldn't go out of our way to eat there. The smell inside was really strong when we went due to the beer fermenting, but you did get used to it after awhile. Food was basic fare like you'd find at TGIFridays or Applebees. Service was good.

It's not very unique, and it's not Disney exclusive, so I won't make plans to dine there again but if we are starving and walk past, we'd dine there again.

We go there every trip. We love sitting outside on the Boardwalk and soaking in the atmosphere and watch the people. We love the Grilled Meatloaf.

That said, I will not go there if I have to sit inside. I don't like the inside tables.

It is all about the atmosphere. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Sums it up well. Beer and burger, it's fine. Service level and other entrees vary from visit to visit.

We love this place. And not JUST because I'm a homebrewer and beer snob. The place IS family friendly despite its pubbish food and atmosphere. What's more is that if you time it right, you can sit on the boardwalk. There's nothing quite like sitting out on the boardwalk at dusk with a warm breeze looking over at the Beach Club having a beer and delicious meal.

Granted, I eat the double bacon cheeseburger. But my wife loves the meat loaf there, and my cousin is a big fan of the pasta. As for the beer, while not THE best handcrafted beer I've EVER had ( which is to say it's still very good ) it's better than most beer offerings at WDW imho ( well except maybe Spaten's doppelbock at Biergarten  ).

Yes... I love this place.

We ate there in December. We liked it! The atmosphere was ok... Not as fab as a lot of places at WDW but still OK. The tables inside had tall seats. I think I would prefer to eat outside next time.

Our server was fantastic! I would rate this place as one of the tops for service from our trip.

The food was good. I had a hamburger, and it wasn't horrible, it was a good solid burger. I would say Applebees quality food. Not gormet, but not dog food either. :)

I don't know if I would make a special trip here, but if you are on the Boardwalk and don't have a place to eat, this works! :goodvibes

We had consistently poor service and food here over several visits so its on our "don't bother" list. If you just want to try some different beers, then OK. But if you want some good food and accompanying service you should look elsewhere.

Agree absolutely, as did another poster above. We've eaten there twice, both on arrival days when we were starving and looking for someplace we could be seated quickly for a mid-afternoon lunch. It's okay, somehow to us it doesn't feel very Disney - not special, you know? Maybe sitting outside would change that....we've never done that as we go in December and it's usually too chilly.

But, as we all know, one man's "eh" is another's "wow!" :hippie:
