Hi; I thought I read somewhre that Big River Grill @ the Boardwalk does not take ADR's. Is this true?:confused3 If so, how hard is it to get a table there? We are planning on going there on a Wed (if that makes a difference:confused3) rather than a weekend.
Thanks for the help,
Laurie:goodvibes

FWIW, this is from an earlier post on the same subject.

Though the Big River Grille restaurant is on the DDP, it is not a Disney-owned restaurant, so you can't call the Disney Dining Reservation number to get ADR's there.

The Big River Grille books your reservations through it's own reservation system instead of Disney's. You just have to contact the restaurant directly to get a reservation. Info is:

phone: 407-560-0253
fax: 407-560-8780

hours:
Sun-Sat: 11:30 AM - midnight

Again, there's no problem using the DDP there, you just can't get an ADR through Disney..."

I enjoy the local Big River for special occasions and intend to visit the one in the World during our September visit.

If you're going during Free Dining, I would say you definitely will want a reservation. I've heard of a lot of people getting walk-ups, but when just about *everyone* is on the Dining Plan, I wouldn't chance it.

We made one with them by calling directly, but are planning to cancel if Kouzzina opens before then.

It really depends on what time you want to eat. This past 2 trips (May 09/Oct 08) had no prblem walking up for lunch. Dinner could be a little tough walking up, has a tendency to get a little busy.

Can you still book 90 days out when you do the other ADRs or do you have to wait until closer? This is one of the ones I picked for our trip in November. Glad I saw this post.

Thanks.:thumbsup2

I booked it the same day I booked the rest of my dining, but the guy who took the reservation seemed to think I was a little nuts to be calling in June for September.

I'd think you could wait until closer in if you're not an obsessive planner like most of us.

Pappa Bear, thanks for the info:thumbsup2

As of now it is not free dinning when we are going, but who knows if that will change:confused3 I hope so for my sake:).

LoveDMouse, that was the other part of my question, but I forgot to ask! We are also going in Nov (well Nov/Dec) and I just can't wait:woohoo:

The guy I spoke seemed to think I was nuts too! I called last night for a "Call Ahead" not really a reservation in his terms. I made one for Aug 25. The earliest I could get was 6:15pm for three people. He said that when we showed up we'd have to wait 1/2hr vs the hour wait for those without a "call ahead" time. Whatever!:upsidedow

We went here in November and walked up for dinner. The restaurant was pretty empty. Excellent food!

:thumbsup2 That's what I like to hear; we will be there in Nov:), well the day I'm thinking of going is actually Dec 2.
Thanks Laurie:goodvibes

Wow, I didn't know they took ressies at all. I will call to make one...we are going on Aug 22. Thanks :goodvibes

I called last night for Aug 22. As PP said they took my name and put me on the "call ahead" list. I asked for 6:00...they had 6:15. Thanks again for this info. :goodvibes

Thanks, Pappa_Bear for all the info!

I called today for August 17th, and she told me that they only take reservations 30-days in advance. :confused3

Yes, that's the number I called.

Maybe I should call again tomorrow at a different time of day (maybe get a different person)?

I would call back. I spoke to a man when I called. He had no problem putting me on the list. I asked for 6:00 and he said they had 6:15 or 6:30...so they must take them. Maybe the person you talked to is new or didn't want to be bothered??? :confused3

Thanks. Do you remember what time of day (or what day) you called? I don't know if the staff has regular hours, but as of now my plan is just to hang up if a girl answers. :upsidedow

Thanks! I called this morning around 10:30 and got a really nice guy named Rich. I was able to set up a "call ahead" for dinner August 17th. He said that basically, if they are on a wait, ours will be "greatly reduced." I'll just be happy if we can all sit together (party of 7) -- we were having trouble with that, believe it or not. Thanks again! :goodvibes
