Big problem with DVC and AKV Club Level

Booked a room for a couple of my friendfs at AKV Club level in July. First, they were told their name wasn't on the reservation. I could see it was, so I called the Itinerary Planning Office at AKV. Turns out the real issue is that their reservation had changed from April to July. I had done that for them as their plans had changed.

Unfortunately, the system links the new reservation to the old one. So what Juanita at the IPO said was that this has been causing them not to be able to book things (like dining and the safaris) for club level guests, because the system sees the reservation as before the dates they are trying to book. She said it even deletes linked credit card information since that is automatically deleted the day after the stay. So even if it let them book things for July, it sounds like come April they would all be automatically deleted!

MS was able to cancel and rebook the reservation. This required a manager since there is no inventory left now.

Hopefully they will get this fixed! MS told the IPO person they would report it.

So if you are booking Club level and change your dates, make sure they give you a brand new reservation!

This is just another issue that makes me think that Disney really doesn't care as much as we think they do. There are several software issues old and new that CM's and guests are forced to work around.

Meanwhile Disney ended last year with a record profit of 5.7 BILLION DOLLARS. :sad2:

I had a recent situation (similar). I asked they email me all the confirmations again so I could have them, just in case.

I didn't think I would need them except one indeed, I did. A cancellation email. For some reason, the system showed my reservation, even though we had cancelled. I had to fax them the email to resolve it.

I deal with Disney on a weekly basis as a travel agent.
Their software systems are so unreliable that it is pitiful!
They have more problems that most small operations have - yet the resources that they have at their disposal are vast.

I think every employee at WDW has to work around their horrible IT systems on a daily basis - from the folks that collect the trash, to reservation agents, to senior level management. Yes, the systems continue to be such a nightmare - that no one fixes the issue!

How long did they say we were getting the ability to book online?!

YEARS!

So don't expect this issue to be resolved in the calendar year of 2013! HAHA
